What is Corrosive Codex

Note
Corrosive Powers do not work everywhere. They are limited to Midnight outdoor content and Delves, meaning you cannot use them inside raids, Mythic+ dungeons or PvP.
There are 12 Corrosive Codex Powers to unlock, but Corrosive Souls are limited enough that the order you choose them can matter. In this guide, we go over how the Corrosive Codex works, the best Corrosive Codex Powers to unlock first and the strongest combinations for WoW Midnight Season 2.
How to unlock Corrosive Codex Powers in WoW Midnight

Before you can use Corrosive Powers, you need to unlock the Corrosive Codex through the Vaults of Atal’Utek. You first need to complete the Vaults of Atal’Utek: The Altar of Corrosion quest. After this, you can obtain the Codex of the Soul Coilers, which starts the Corrosive Gifts questline and gives you access to Corrosive Powers at the Altar of Corrosion.
Corrosive Souls are the currency used to unlock new powers. Each Corrosive Codex Power costs 8 Corrosive Souls, and the unlocks are account-wide. Some of the main sources of Corrosive Souls include:
- Vaults of Atal’Utek activities
- Curse Surges
- Lair: Nymrissa
- Prey: Ral’Kala
- Weekly Prey hunts
- Bountiful Delves
- Delver’s Journey rewards
You initially have 1 active Corrosive Power slot. After unlocking 8 different powers, which costs a total of 64 Corrosive Souls, you unlock a second slot and can have 2 Corrosive Codex Powers active at the same time. Unlocking every power costs 96 Corrosive Souls.
How to change Corrosive Codex Powers
Corrosive Powers can be swapped after you have unlocked them, so you are not permanently locked into your active choices. To change your powers, interact with the Altar of Corrosion and deactivate your currently selected power before choosing another one.
Note
You can also access the Corrosive Codex at the start of Delves, making it much easier to change your setup depending on the content you are about to complete.
This becomes especially useful once you have two active slots, as some Corrosive Powers have much stronger interactions when used together.
Corrosive Codex Powers tier list
