Players have found a new secret interaction for Warlock players. You can now get Warlock Metamorphosis humanoid form from the item Zila Amanemodas. Getting it, however, involves traveling to Deadwind Pass, interacting with an NPC, and defeating mini-boss Xalus Nihilus.

First, let’s talk about the requirements for this quest. While there are no level requirements for getting Zila Amanemodas, it would be much safer to be level 60 during the encounter with Xalus Nihilus. Another requirement for this encounter to happen is to get Metamorphosis Rune to trigger the encounter.
If you’re a Warlock looking to gain your regular look in Meta rather than demon form in Season of Discovery, now you can finally have it. The Zila Amanemodas customization is a new feature that allows you to personalize your Metamorphosis form. This unique item, Zila Amanemodas, is available at item level 60 and is bound when picked up. It is classified as a unique item for Warlocks, and its use enables you to attune with the darkness within, granting you better control over your Metamorphosis form.
To unlock this new customization, Warlocks must travel to Deadwind Pass near the back entrance of Karazhan. The coordinates to reach the location are approximately [48.85, 67.44]. Once there, you’ll find Fleuric, a key NPC. When you speak to Fleuric in Metamorphosis form, he will teleport you to an instanced area of Deadwind Pass.
In this instance, Warlocks faces a challenging encounter with Xalus Nihilus, a powerful boss. After defeating Xalus Nihilus, you will be able to loot the Zila Amanemodas customization, which will automatically be added to your Key Ring for future use.

Tips on how to get Zila Amanemodas
To help with the battle against Xalus Nihilus and get Zila Amanemodas, here are a few tips and tricks:
- For this encounter all your summons are instant-cast, so utilise their kit as much as you can.
- You can use your Felhunter pet to Devour Magic and remove the slow effect that Xalus Nihilus applies.
- The Voidwalker pet can be useful for casting Sacrifice to counter the boss’s Demonic Destruction ability.
- Recommended runes for the fight include Pandemic, Haunt, Unstable Affliction, Master Channeler, Soul Siphon, or Mark of Chaos. Learn more about Warlock Runes and how to get them in our guide.
- It’s also suggested to use the talented ability Curse of Exhaustion, which will allow you to kite Xalus Nihilus around the room in a circle.
- Every 10 seconds, you’ll receive a proc similar to the Scythe of Chaos, indicated by an in-game sound prompt.
- When Xalus Nihilus casts Shadow Cleave, be sure to cut across the room to avoid taking damage from the frontal cone attack, or use Spell Lock to interrupt this ability.
- Get the best equipment possible. One of the greater weapons for Warlocks in SoD is the Scythe of Chaos. You can learn more about this weapon and others in our guide.
- Affliction Warlock is great against this encounter with an improved Curse of the Elements
- Download Zila Amanemodas WeakAura to know when Xalun Nihilus casts Shadow Cleave and Demonic Destruction. With this WeakAura you also would be able to track his Shadow Cleave cancel for Demonic Destruction. Use these 7 seconds to Summon and Sacrifice your Voidwalker
- Use Macros for your DoTs, Dispel, and Felhunter Devour Magic

Go full affliction with Improved CoE. Macro all your dots to target him, macro your fel puppy to purge you and finally, macro your voidwalker summon and Sacrifice. All pets are free to summon and instant cast so you can swap from pup to void and back while running. Kite him back and forth since every time he casts his cleave you can run past him. Get a WA to let you know when he casts Demonic Destruction since he can cancel his Shadow Cleave to do it and you have 7 sec to summon and sac the void. all his abilities are one-shots so get in there and practice the timing and you’ll have your wings in no time.
