There Will Be No Void Storage in Cataclysm Classic
In a recent post about notable differences between Cataclysm Classic and the original game, Blizzard announced that there would be no Void Storage in Cataclysm Classic.
Void Storage made its debut in Patch 4.3.0. It was introduced in Cataclysm to tackle the issue of limited storage space for players’ items. This feature provides a convenient solution for managing inventory space in the game, giving players a secure place to stash items they want to keep but don’t need immediate access to.
Void Storage is convenient for storing items with sentimental value or those that are part of a collection, like rare armor sets or unique weapons. Players can deposit items into Void Storage for a fee and withdraw them whenever needed. However, there are rules about which items can be stored and how many can be deposited.
However, Blizzard plans to introduce a new Collections feature and implement account-wide transmogrification to Cataclysm Classic. These changes significantly reduce the necessity of Void Storage, deeming it unnecessary and leading to its removal.
No Void Storage in Cataclysm Classic: What Players Say
As a feature originating from Cataclysm, Void Storage has been eagerly anticipated by fans of the expansion ever since the announcement of its being revived in Classic. Needless to say, Void Storage lovers can’t help but feel disappointed by its removal. Timay, a WoW player, expressed:
“This [Void Storage] was a system that was stated to be long term storage for items you wanted to keep for the length of the game due to sentimental or aesthetic reasons. Guess I will have to dedicate 3/4 my bank to these items still because they are just simply unobtainable anymore.”

Meanwhile, another player, Voidarcane, suggested that Blizzard should reconsider this decision:
“You probably should rethink this. Even in Retail, Void Storage is still very useful to clear our banks by putting old armor (such as T3) and other weapons we don’t want to get rid of but don’t want taking up space in our Banks and Bags.”
