Season of Discovery Phase 7
World of Warcraft Season of Discovery continues to evolve with the release of SoD Phase 7. This new phase brings fresh content that promises to excite both veteran players and newcomers alike. Players can expect revamped raids, new dungeons, updated gear, and thrilling new challenges. Here’s a quick rundown of everything to look forward to in SoD Phase 7.
Key Features of Season of Discovery Phase 7
SoD Phase 7 focuses on three major themes, each connected to WoW’s rich lore and history. The upcoming content promises an exciting mix of old and new adventures. Here’s what you can expect:
- Reworked Naxxramas Raid: The iconic Naxxramas raid is back, revamped, and more challenging than ever. Players will battle through the floating necropolis to face off against Kel’Thuzad and his Scourge minions. The raid comes with updated loot, redesigned Tier 3 sets, and possibly cosmetic rewards. While the exact release date is yet to be confirmed, the revamped raid will be a central feature of Season of Discovery Phase 7.
- Scourge Invasion: The Scourge Invasion returns as a major event in SoD Phase 7, echoing the excitement of previous invasions from earlier WoW expansions. Expect to see the undead forces spreading across Azeroth as players join forces to repel the threat and prepare for the Naxxramas raid. This invasion could have unique twists for Season of Discovery, but details are still being revealed.
- New Dungeons: Karazhan Crypts and Scarlet Enclave Raid
Karazhan Crypts, a brand-new dungeon, will finally open its doors in SoD Phase 7. Fans of the original Karazhan will be thrilled to explore its dark depths and face new challenges. The Scarlet Enclave Raid will bring players back into the fray against the notorious Scarlet Crusade. The raid is expected to be a large-scale challenge, similar to older WoW raids, offering great rewards and challenging encounters.
The central conflict of the phase will revolve around Scarlet Crusade and Scourge.
Karazhan Crypts
Karazhan was a long-awaited fantasy for Classic Era players to engage in. However, players could only enter Karazhan in the Burning Crusade expansion. It seems that in SoD Phase 7, we will see the Karazhan Crypts instance.
Blizzard first teased a Karazhan instance when they announced Season of Discovery, and now, new items have been datamined in Phase 7 PTR, hinting at exciting new content. Let’s look at what we can expect from the upcoming Karazhan Crypts.
Interesting Quest Items
Several new quest items have been uncovered, suggesting we won’t be entering the Karazhan Crypts without a reason. While none of the quests have been revealed yet, the items give us some clues.
- Violet Satchel: This item, marked with the symbol of the Kirin Tor, starts a quest. It’s unusual because it can’t be opened, but it may involve the mages of Dalaran. Archmage Tarsis Kir-Moldir, a character tied to Atiesh, Greatstaff of the Guardian, might play a role in these quests. Tarsis was previously connected to the staff and may help us access the Karazhan Crypts.
Other datamined quest items, like the Deadwind Cage Key and Enchanted Firebrand, likely relate to Karazhan, but their exact roles remain unclear.
New Epic Items
Along with new quests, Karazhan Crypts will introduce exciting new loot:
- Ol’ Reliable: A shovel with an “On Use” effect that deals AoE damage when slammed into a dead enemy or ally.
- Doomsayer’s Demise: A wand and off-hand set for Shadow damage casters. It causes Creeping Darkness to stack and explode with increased damage, especially when paired with the Shadowbound Grimoire.
We still need to know the details about Karazhan’s new instance, but we will update this article as soon as we have more information.
Scarlet Enclave new raid?
Scarlet Enclave is a potential new 40-man raid that was teased by Blizzard in a blue post. The details are still unknown.
Additionally, we have Tyr’s Hand City in Eastern Plaguelands. Tyr’s Hand is a human city located in the southeastern part of the Eastern Plaguelands, currently under the control of the Scarlet Crusade. Given its significance in Warcraft lore, there’s speculation that this area could play a key role in Season of Discovery’s upcoming content. Could Tyr’s Hand be the next major raid after Naxxramas?
This idea isn’t far-fetched, especially since the Scarlet Crusade has been a focus in recent updates. They were featured in the latest Warcraft Direct presentation, sparking further speculation. Tyr’s Hand’s strategic location and its connection to the Scarlet Crusade make it a likely candidate for future content, possibly as a large-scale raid to follow Naxxramas in Season of Discovery or at least a new instance.
Scourge Invasion event
Scourge Invasion will come back in SoD Phase 7! It is an event that follows the release of the Naxxramas raid. During the event, players would be able to see Necropolises flying over major cities. Light’s Hope Chapel quest will then appear, calling players to take action against Scourge. Players could then travel to Eastern Plaguelands and into Light’s Hope Chapel.
Regarding the event, players will need to take action against Scourge Invasions. In the Eastern Plaguelands, Burning Steppes, Blasted Lands, Tanaris, Winterspring, and Azshara, you’ll find a floating Necropolis with Scourge circles nearby. Defeat the Scourge enemies to damage the crystal in the center and loot Necrotic Rune. Once destroyed, four Cultist Engineers will appear, and you must pay them Necrotic Runes (8 each) to stop them. Each engineer turns into a Shadow of Doom that drops Necrotic Runes (30), Corruptor’s Scourgestones, and may drop various Undead Slaying gear. Repeat this for all four engineers to clear the circle temporarily.
Scourge Invasions also have unique questlines. However, we don’t know if there would be differences in the events in SoD Phase 7. We will update this section as soon as we get more information.
What’s next for Naxxramas?
The Naxxramas raid in Season of Discovery Phase 7 is one of the most anticipated releases. Though details on the raid’s exact mechanics and boss fights are still under wraps, players can expect to face Kel’Thuzad again. New gear, redesigned Tier 3 sets, and even the Legendary Atiesh, Greatstaff of the Guardian, are expected rewards. It is unknown if we have more complex raid mechanics like with SoD Phase 6 Descent into Madness. Stay tuned for more updates as Blizzard reveals further information.
Conclusion
Season of Discovery Phase 7 brings a wave of exciting content for World of Warcraft Classic players. From a revamped Naxxramas raid and a fresh Scourge Invasion to the new Karazhan Crypts Dungeon and Scarlet Enclave Raid, there’s something for everyone in this new phase. With new gear, updated reputations, and thrilling battles, SoD
Phase 7 is shaping up to be one of the most exciting updates in Season of Discovery yet.
