Blizzard initially planned for just five phases in Season of Discovery, but it seems the roadmap has shifted. Roughly two weeks ago, we reported on a potential SoD Phase 6 leak. At the time, there were doubts about its authenticity. After all, the Season of Discovery was winding down, and player enthusiasm had cooled. Yet here we are: a surprise sixth phase with a fresh wave of content is on the way!

SoD Phase 6 event dates and details
Here are the key dates for the upcoming events in Season of Discovery Phase 6 to help prepare for the battles ahead, along with what to expect:
- November 12: Scepter of the Shifting Sands questline opens.
- November 21 to November 29: Ahn’Qiraj War Effort begins and ends.
- December 4: Battle against the Anubisath and Qiraji warriors
- December 6: Temple of Ahn’Qiraj, Ruins of Ahn’Qiraj, and Nightmare Grove open.
Scepter of the Shifting Sands questline
Start Date: November 12
Main objective: Begin the questline to create the Scepter of the Shifting Sands and ring the gong in the players’ realm.
Reward: Black Qiraji Resonating Crystal mount. Players can only get this battle tank if they complete the quest between 1 PM, December 4, and 1 PM, December 6 (PST)
Ahn’Qiraj War Effort
Start Date: November 21
End Date: November 29
Main objective: Contribute supplies to the Ahn’Qiraj War Effort by turning in materials at designated locations. For the Horde: Orgrimmar. For the Alliance: Ironforge.
Reward: Commendation Signets for players’ chosen faction. Players can continue contributing supplies even after the War Effort concludes.
Battle against the Anubisath and Qiraji warriors
Start Date: December 4
Main objective: Repel Anubisath and Qiraji incursions in the Barrens, Thousand Needles, Silithus, Tanaris, and Feralas.
Rewards: Gold, XP, reputation with the Brood of Nozdormu, and a chance for rare loot drops.
Opening of the Ruins and Temple of Ahn’Qiraj
Start Date: December 6
Main objective: Enter the Ruins of Ahn’Qiraj (10+ player raid) and the Temple of Ahn’Qiraj (20+ player raid) to face new bosses and complete challenges.
Rewards: Exclusive loot, including Qiraji mounts and other valuable items. Players can choose between claiming rewards or enabling tougher mechanics for better loot after each boss defeat.
Facing the Dragons of Nightmare in the Nightmare Grove
Start Date: December 6
Main objective: Confront the Dragons of Nightmare in the Nightmare Grove. Players can fight one dragon per visit and teleport between them sequentially.
Rewards: Unique drops and rewards specific to each dragon upon defeat.
