SoD Phase 4 PTR is live: how to participate
Just moments ago, Josh Greenfield shared on his Twitter that SoD Phase 4 PTR is live!
“Season of Discovery PTR is coming imminently” and “PTR now live!” is what was written by WoW Classic Senior Game Producer Josh Greenfield. After what feels like eons since Phase 4 was announced to be delayed, finally, we’ve got some actions. The Phase 4 PTR for Season of Discovery primarily centers on class adjustments, with most new content intentionally disabled. Players can now experiment with new runes designed for their Ring and Cloak slots. However, the discovery methods for these new runes will remain inaccessible during this PTR phase.
Greenfield also cautioned players about upcoming datamined information. He advised that while much of it will be accurate, some details may be subject to change in the coming weeks. After all, items in the PTR are still undergoing significant development.
That said, dedicated SoD players have already identified an issue where cloak runes are not appearing on numerous characters. Blizzard promptly acknowledged the problem and is actively working on a resolution. So, if you encounter this bug, be patient, as the developers may require a new build to address it fully. If you notice any other bug in SoD Phase 4 PTR, don’t hesitate to report them promptly for swift investigation and resolution!
How to participate in SoD Phase 4 PTR
To participate in SoD Phase 4 PTR, you need to first create a PTR account by following these steps:
— Blizzard Entertainment
- Log in to Blizzard Account Management.
- Select Games and Subscriptions.
- In the Starter Editions & Public Test Regions section, select Create PTR Account.
- Click the Create Account button.
- Open the Blizzard Battle.net App and select World of Warcraft Classic from your Games list.
- In the selector above the Play button, change your Region / Account to Public Test Realm (Classic).
- Click Install (or Update) to install the PTR client. This becomes a Play button when ready.
- Click Play to log in to the PTR, and select any of the available Test Servers.
- Create a new test character, or copy over a character from your live account using the Copy Character button.
- Enter the game and test the new content!
