SoD flex raid size fixed: Molten Core is capped at 20 players
The flexible raid size is no more. Once again, Molten Core is capped at 20 players.
With the latest SoD update, Molten Core’s maximum raid size has been capped at 20 players, aligning with its intended design. Previously, players were able to exceed this limit, bringing more than 20 participants into the raid. This was a game-changer for guilds with larger rosters, as it meant all guildies could raid together without leaving anyone behind. As shared by Redditor Zealousideal-Tax6002:
“Yeah, I’m actually fine to keep it uncapped. We’ve got like 24-28 raiders so it makes rostering way easier!”

Yet, despite the positive reception of the flexible raid size, Blizzard has chosen to remove this feature. According to the developers, the ability to host more than 20 players was an unintended bug and has now been corrected.
Molten Core is capped at 20 players: What gamers say
Unfortunately, this change is not what the SoD player base was looking forward to. Across social platforms, players have been vocal about wanting to keep the raid flexible, allowing them to bring in extra help when needed. For many, gaming—especially in Season of Discovery—is all about having fun. And the ability to include more friends in raids added to that enjoyment, even if it meant less loot and easier encounters. As written by Redditor Acceptable_Company97:
“Speaking for my 27 people raid roster with 20-24 being present at a tim —please keep it flex, i want to play with my friends, not bench them or me! WCL will find a way to keep the loggers satisfied (e.g. new category 20+ people).”

Some players have suggested that Blizzard should consider capping Molten Core’s raid size on Molten Heat Level only. Others are skeptical and believe Blizzard only wants to opt for a simpler solution, limiting the whole raid to 20 players. However, it’s also important to note that the SoD team has a track record of being responsive to player feedback and addressing community concerns. That’s why many players remain hopeful that Blizzard will listen to the community and reinstate the flexible raid size for Molten Core, allowing them to enjoy their raids with more of their friends.

It needs to be changed back, no reason they can’t allow guilds to bring 20-40 if they want to.. CAP heat level 2/3 if you want to make it harder.. Why take the enjoyment out of the game, it was awesome to bring the extra guildies who wanted to raid verse bench them.. What is wrong with blizzard listen to your community. Let the sweats be sweaty thats not the majority.
