Fangs of the Father are a pair of daggers that belong to the category of Legendary weapons. The quest chain is made for Rogues only. These blades are not just prestige regalia, but also formidable weapons with a powerful set bonus. Every self-respecting Rogue should get a pair of these. They are considered BiS (Best in Slot) until the end of the expansion since they boost damage dealt by melee attacks, as well as Sinister Strike, Revealing Strike, and other finishing moves. Proving Your Worth Quest Guide

The very first step on your path is very straightforward. You can get it inside the Dragon Soul raid instance [65.8, 48.9] by speaking with Lord Afrasastrasz. The objective is simple: you need to pickpocket a Cryptomancer’s decoder ring from the fourth boss, Hagara the Stormbinder.

To reach Hagara, you need to defeat all three previous bosses and the trash mobs for Hagara to spawn. So, you may want to get a raid group for this quest. You don’t need to defeat Hagara, just pickpocket the boss. The stealable item respawns in 15 minutes, so it is possible to get the items for all Rogues in one raid lockout. You can reset the fight using abilities like Vanish or Feign Death to reset the pickpocketing items.

With the ring in your hands, you can return to Afrasastrasz to proceed further.

A Hidden Message Quest Guide

First, to proceed with the quest, you need to speak with your faction’s Ethereal. For the Alliance, seek out Thaumaturge Rafir at coordinates [50.6; 61.0] in Stormwind. For the Horde, locate Thaumaturge Altha at coordinates [57.6; 65.6] in Orgrimmar. You need to pay 10,000 gold for recharge services. The whole process will take 12 hours Earth time. This means you can complete this step before going to bed, so the next day you can receive a Charged Decoder ring.

With a newly charged ring, visit Corastrasza [29.0; 25.0] in Vermillion Redoubt of Twilight Highlands for the second part. Use the ring’s power to decipher the message and receive the next quest.

To Ravenholdt Quest Guide

Your objective is to sneak inside the Ravenholdt manor and steal back the egg taken from the Red Dragonflight. Stealth, Distract, and Sap will be your bread and butter during this mission. The red circle around your character indicates the detection radius — any non-sapped enemy entering this zone will reset you back to the start of the mission.

Walking through the main entrance is not an option, so walk by the right side to reach the back of the manor. There you will find means to climb up and reach the open window in the tower. From there, you need to reach the basement to find the stolen black dragon egg. Stick to the shadows, do not bump into enemy patrols, and use Distract and Sap to deal with them.

When you finally reach the egg you will be able to get to the next step from Wrathion after a cut scene.

Our Man in Gilneas Quest Guide

Simply travel to the Ruins of Gilneas City, where you should meet Zazzo Twinklefingers [70.0; 40.8]. His location is a small wooden shed at the northern bridge leading into the city. 

Assassinate Creed Quest Guide

Another infiltration mission, somewhat harder than the previous one. Your goal is to find Lord Hiram Creed in the heart of the Military District. The key to success is to wait for patrols to reach certain points on their way, so you can sneak past.

When you reach Lord Hiram, you will have to fight him. Blackhowl’s Will drains your energy, so every cast should be interrupted or stunned. Consuming Darkness creates DoT void zones. Move out of it, you can avoid any damage dealt if you react fast enough. Shadow Breath is a cone channel, dodge it by running through the boss. After two minutes, the enemy will enter Enrage, so make sure to deal as much damage as possible and keep melee attacks uptime. Don’t forget about self-healing and mitigation abilities. You can use the Blind ability to buy yourself ample time to heal up. Enchant Weapon — Mending can help if you have trouble with self-sustain.

Once you defeat Lord Hiram, return to Zazzo and proceed to the next stage of the quest line.

The Deed is Done Quest Guide

Return to Wrathion to receive base ilvl 397 Fangs of the Father daggers, Fear and Vengeance, and the means to improve them via the next batch of quests.

Cluster Clutch Quest Guide

Another task that requires a group. You need to collect 333 Shadowy Gems, which in turn drop from Elementium gem clusters in the Dragon Soul raid. Each cluster can contain 3–9 gems, while raid bosses can drop one (10-player) or two clusters (25-player). Clusters will drop if there is someone with an active quest inside the raid.

It takes around seven (10-player raid) or three (25-player raid) full clears to complete this stage.

When the necessary amount of gems is reached, return them to Wrathion.

Our Man in Karazhan Quest Guide

Meet our friend Zazzo Twinklefingers [52.6; 77.6] on the outskirts of Karazhan ruins. In return, you will get another infiltration mission.

Blood of the Betrayer Quest Guide

Your goal this time is Nalice of Black Dragonflight, deep inside the master’s cellar of Karazhan. The mission takes patience and careful observation of patrol patterns, as well as usage of Sap and Distract.

The encounter is mechanically involved. When Nalice uses Arcane Infused Weapons, do anything you can to avoid her damage. It can be Evasion, Blind, or finishing moves such as Kidney Shot. Arcane Missiles should be interrupted with Kick, while Enrage needs to be dispelled with Shiv. When you get struck by Blazing Shadows, dispel the effect with either Cloak of Shadows, or run around the room to avoid getting burned.

Several times through the fight, Nalice covers herself with a protection field, becoming immune to damage. When this happens, you’re on a 20-second timer to run across the room to turn off two arcane devices. Use Sprint to reach them in time, or you will die instantly. Also don’t forget your mitigation tools and self-healing.

Victory in the Depths Quest Guide

Wrathion awaits you back in Ravenholdt Manor so he can upgrade your Fangs of the Father to ilvl 406 versions, The Sleeper and The Dreamer, and give you your next quests.

Sharpening Your Fangs Quest Guide

Again with gathering things in Dragon Soul, but this time you need to bring 60 Elementium gem clusters. This process prevents other Rogues in your group from making progress for the Shadowy Gem stage, so make sure to sort things out beforehand.

With the necessary amount of clusters in your bag, return to Wrathion, who awaits inside Ravenholdt Manor and prepare for the final push on this path.

Patricide Quest Guide

To finally receive your Fangs of the Father, you need to destroy Deathwing himself, in the Madness of Deathwing fight. Doing so will reward you with Fragment of Deathwing’s Jaw, a key item necessary to complete your legendary weapon.

Bring it back to Wrathion and receive your rewards, that being legendary daggers Fangs of the Father: Golad, Twilight of Aspects and Tiriosh, Nightmare of Ages, as well as a feat of strength of the same name.
