Why should you choose Jewelcrafting as your profession?

Being a Jewelcrafter involves transforming raw gemstones into valuable gems that can be added to your gear to enhance your stats. With the Prospecting skill, you can extract Red, Blue, Yellow, Purple, Orange, Green, and Meta gems from ore. Additionally, you can craft a variety of high-quality and low-level rings and amulets, which are often tough to obtain while leveling up and can be sold at the Auction House for a good profit.

Also, Jewelcrafting lets you use unique gems exclusive to Jewelcrafters. These gems are much more potent than any other ones, boosting your stats. However, you can only have three of them equipped at a time:

What is the best combo with Jewelcrafting in WoW

Combining Mining with Jewelcrafting is awesome because it gives you the raw materials you need for Jewelcrafting through Prospecting, which breaks down ore into gems. This way, you can save gold because you won’t have to buy ore or gems from vendors or at the Auction House. Crafting items at higher skill levels can get pretty expensive due to the large amount of materials required, but Mining can really help you save a good amount of gold.

Approximate materials required

Below, you will find an estimate of the materials required to level up your Jewelcrafting profession from level 1 to 525.

Classic (1-300)

The Burning Crusade (300-350)

Reaching level 75, seek out your trainers and follow this guide to reach the maximum Cataclysm Classic Jewelcrafting level:

From this point, most recipes will need to be purchased from a vendor. To buy any of these recipes, you must complete the Jewelcrafting daily quests to earn Illustrious Jewelcrafter’s Tokens. Horde players can find Marith Lazuria in Orgrimmar, while Alliance players can find Isabel Jones in Stormwind. These NPCs initiate the daily quests and sell the recipes.

Between skill levels 495 and 500, you can create a few more Nightstone Chokers. Once you reach skill level 500, you can start making Fire Prism. Although Fire Prism has a 20-hour cooldown, it can contain Chimera’s Eye, so be sure to make one every day.

In summary, you can either craft Nightstone Chokers between skill levels 495-500 or complete the daily quests for four days to buy a meta gem recipe and use that to reach skill level 520.

Additionally, you can craft any of the following items between skill levels 510-520:

Darkmoon Faire Free +5 Profession Skill

Check your Calendar in-game to see if the Darkmoon Faire is open. The event is available every two weeks. It starts on Sunday and lasts for a week. During the event, you can complete quests for each profession and gain +5 skill points for each. Craft 5x from any of these:
