Blizzard released one more Black Lotus hotfix for all WoW Classic Era realms.

“With a hotfix going out to all Classic Era realms today, we’re increasing the rate at which Black Lotus respawns from any appropriate node.

Because this is an increase to respawn rate, it may not be immediately noticeable. However, over the next few hours and days, the aggregate supply of Black Lotus should increase on Classic Era, Anniversary, and Hardcore realms.

Black Lotus is a crucial herb for endgame players. Its primary use is crafting top-tier flasks, essential for all raids and PvP activities.

Requiring one Black Lotus for a single flask might not sound too bad—until you realize just how difficult it is to farm even one Black Lotus. To start, you’ll need to venture into level 55-60 zones, where Black Lotus primarily spawns in some of the most dangerous and hard-to-reach areas filled with elite mobs. On top of that, the spawn rate for Black Lotus is exceptionally low, meaning there’s no guarantee you’ll find one even after a lengthy search. Add to this the competition from other players and the presence of elite mobs nearby, and it becomes clear why many players resort to forming groups to secure their Black Lotus farm.

Why nothing changed

A few days have passed since the hotfix, and we’re back to the same Black Lotus prices as before the patch. 144 gold for a single Black Lotus is still far too high for most Classic Era players.

So, why hasn’t anything changed? The community blames two main issues, both related to WoW bots problem. First, there are a lot of farming bots on all Classic servers. No matter how much you increase the Black Lotus spawn rate, bots will just farm it all. Second, there are bots on the Auction House too. If you post cheap Black Lotus, bots will buy it right away and then resell it at a higher price.
