All SoD Phase 4 new runes: Cloak and Ring slots

With the new phase of the Season of Discovery underway, here is the complete list of all Phase 4 new runes for every playable class in SoD.

As SoD Phase 4 has been in full swing since July 11, 2024, Blizzard has released new class runes and updated the existing ones. For now, let’s take a look at the new SoD Phase 4 runes for all playable classes in Season of Discovery.

SoD Phase 4 Ring runes 

How to Get Arcane Specialization Rune in SoD

Arcane Specialization: Chance to hit with Arcane spells increased by 6%. Not cumulative with other ring runes.

Classes: Druid, Hunter, Mage

How to get Arcane Specialization:

1. Travel to Western Plaguelands, find and enter the tower situated at around [46, 13]
2. Inside the tower, look for a Scarlet Priest. The book you need, Elements for Dummies Volume III: Arcane, will be near this NPC.
3. Once found, interact with it and learn the Rune of Arcane Specialization.

How to Get Axe Specialization Rune in SoD

Axe Specialization: Skill with Axes and Two-Handed Axes increased by 5. This effect is not cumulative with racial bonuses or other ring runes.

Classes: Hunter, Paladin, Shaman, Warrior

How to get Axe Specialization:

1. Head to the Burning Steppes and locate a small fort at [40, 35]. 
2. Inside, find the red book titled The Rites of Mak’Gora.
3. Interact with it and learn the Rune of Axe Specialization. This task can be challenging at lower levels and, therefore, is appropriate for those at levels 56-58+. Also, bring friends with you, as you will need extra help.

How to Get Dagger Specialization Rune in SoD

Dagger Specialization: Skill with Daggers increased by 5. This effect is not cumulative with racial bonuses or other ring runes.

Classes: Druid, Hunter, Mage, Priest, Rogue, Shaman, Warlock, Warrior

How to get Dagger Specialization:

1. Head to Silithus at [20, 85].
2. Look for a tent in the area and find the book inside.
3. Interact with the book to obtain the Rune of Dagger Specialization.

How to Get Defense Specialization Rune in SoD

Defense Specialization: Defense skill increased by 25. Not cumulative with other ring runes.

Classes: Druid, Paladin, Rogue, Shaman, Warlock, Warrior

How to get Defense Specialization:

1. Travel to the entrance of the Lower Blackrock Spire dungeon in Searing Gorge.
2. Upon entering the main chamber, take the left turn down the circular pathway.
3. When you reach the meeting stone for Lower Blackrock Spire, turn left and continue up the hallway.
4. Take the first right into a small room. Be wary of level 54 mobs.
5. Inside, you will find two copies of the book on the floor: one is near a pair of mobs, while the other is in a small nook where you can safely loot it without attracting attention and learn the Rune of Defense Specialization.

How to Get Feral Combat Specialization Rune in SoD

Feral Combat Specialization: Feral Combat skill increased by 5. Not cumulative with other ring runes.

Classes: Druid

How to get Feral Combat Specialization:

1. Head to Winterspring at [49.6, 8.8].
2. There, you’ll find a red book, Finding Your Inner Feline: A Guide to Modern Druidism, on a small rock outcropping.
3. Click on it to learn the Rune of Feral Combat Specialization.

How to Get Fire Specialization Rune in SoD

Fire Specialization: Chance to hit with Fire spells increased by 6%. Not cumulative with other ring runes.

Classes: Mage, Priest, Shaman, Warlock

How to get Fire Specialization:

1. Head to Overseer Maltorius in Searing Gorge at [41.8, 35.4].
2. Find the book titled Elements for Dummies Volume II: Fire on a table near Maltorius at [40.6, 35.5].
3. Open it to obtain the Rune of Fire Specialization.

How to Get Fist Weapon Specialization Rune in SoD

Fist Weapon Specialization: Skill with Fist Weapons (Unarmed) increased by 5. This effect is not cumulative with racial bonuses or other ring runes.

Classes: Druid, Hunter, Rogue, Shaman, Warrior

How to get Fist Weapon Specialization:

1. Go to Silithus at coordinates [38.2, 45.4]. The book is atop a crate and shrouded by twilight, so be cautious.
2. Interact with it and get your Rune of Fist Weapon Specialization.

How to Get Frost Specialization Rune in SoD

Frost Specialization: Chance to hit with Frost spells increased by 6%. Not cumulative with other ring runes.

Classes: Hunter, Mage, Shaman

How to get Frost Specialization:

1. Head to the Owlbear Camp at [59, 60] in Winterspring.
2. Find a small red book titled Elements for Dummies Volume I: Frost and interact with it to get the Rune of Frost Specialization.

How to Get Holy Specialization Rune in SoD

Holy Specialization: Chance to hit with Holy spells increased by 6%. Not cumulative with other ring runes.

Classes: Paladin, Priest

How to get Holy Specialization:

1. Head to Tyr’s Hand in Eastern Plaguelands and enter the building at [83.6, 78.2].
2. The book is in the library, atop a bookshelf, but clear the room first or die close to the book and then respawn on the stairs. The mobs will be on the other side of the bookshelf and won’t be able to notice you from there.
3. Loot the book and get the Rune of Holy Specialization.

How to Get Mace Specialization Rune in SoD

Mace Specialization: Skill with Maces and Two-Handed Maces increased by 5. This effect is not cumulative with racial bonuses or other ring runes.

Classes: Druid, Paladin, Priest, Rogue, Shaman, Warrior

How to get Mace Specialization:

1. Travel to the top of Grim Batol in the Wetlands at [73, 76].
2. Look for a red book beside the door, lying on a barrel. 
3. Interact with it to acquire the Rune of Mace Specialization.

How to Get Nature Specialization Rune in SoD

Nature Specialization: Chance to hit with Nature spells increased by 6%. Not cumulative with other ring runes.

Classes: Druid, Rogue, Shaman

How to get Nature Specialization:

1. Head to Felwood at coordinates [62.7, 7.49].
2. Find the book titled The Fury of Stormrage.
3. Open the book to obtain the Rune of Nature Specialization.

How to Get Pole Weapon Specialization Rune in SoD

Pole Weapon Specialization: Skill with Staves and Polearms increased by 5. This effect is not cumulative with racial bonuses or other ring runes.

Classes: Druid, Hunter, Mage, Priest, Shaman, Warlock, Warrior

How to get Pole Weapon Specialization:

1. Go to Azshara and enter the Temple of Arkkoran; there is a book on the moonwell at [78, 38].
2. Open the book to obtain the Rune of Pole Weapon Specialization.

How to Get Ranged Weapon Specialization Rune in SoD

Ranged Weapon Specialization: Skill with Bows, Guns, Crossbows, and Thrown weapons increased by 5. This effect is not cumulative with racial bonuses or other ring runes.

Classes: Hunter, Rogue, Warrior

How to get Ranged Weapon Specialization:

1. Travel to Marris Stead in Eastern Plaguelands at coordinates [26, 74].
2. You’ll see the book propped up at the entrance to the building.
3. Click on it to get the Rune of Ranged Weapon Specialization.

How to Get Shadow Specialization Rune in SoD

Shadow Specialization: Chance to hit with Shadow spells increased by 6%. Not cumulative with other ring runes.

Classes: Priest, Warlock

How to get Shadow Specialization:

1. Head to the Blasted Lands at coordinates [33.0, 48.0].
2. Find the book on the altar and open it to acquire the Rune of Shadow Specialization.

How to Get Sword Specialization Rune in SoD

Sword Specialization: Skill with Swords and Two-Handed Swords increased by 5. This effect is not cumulative with racial bonuses or other ring runes.

Classes: Hunter, Mage, Paladin, Rogue, Warlock, Warrior

How to get Sword Specialization:

1. Go to the Master’s Cellar beneath Karazhan, Deadwind Pass at [43.1, 74.6].
2. The area has two cellars, but you should enter the one closest to Karazhan.
3. Descend to the third level, and in the southern section at around [43, 74.5], you will find the red Advanced Swordplay book.
4. Interact with it and loot the Rune of Sword Specialization.

Warlock
