Also, unlocking specific Runes has become simpler thanks to Pix Xizzix, who now sells special bind-on-account emblems for 5x Tarnished Undermine Real each (this currency has a cap of 150 and can be earned from OnyxiaAzuregos, and Lord Kazzak). To get these emblems, you’ll need to complete shared discoveries like Dark RidersWild GodsLey Lines, or Illari Duskfeather.

Shield of Righteousness: Slam the target with your shield, causing Holy damage based on your block value plus an additional 213.541.

How to get Shield of Righteousness:

  1. Go to the Eastern Plaguelands and defeat a Slack-Jawed Ghoul patrolling near Darrowshire in the southern region. This action will summon Orthas. This Ghoul patrols a wide area, mainly located in the southern part of the zone between the Undercroft and Corrin’s Crossing. Confirmed locations include coordinates [35, 75] and [29, 82].
  2. Accept the Oi! quest from Orthas.
  3. Retrieve Orthas’s Ornate Warhammer from the house’s second floor in Corrin’s Crossing at [61.4, 69.5].
  4. Complete the quest and accept the new one titled Oh No Ye Don’t!
  5. Defeat Stitched Horrors at Corrin’s Crossing or south of Stratholme to obtain the Partially-Digested Plate Armor.
  6. Complete the quest and accept the next one titled A Wee Bit O’ Necromancy.
  7. Enter Stratholme (Undead) and defeat Maleki the Pallid. Loot a Necrotic Runestone from him.
  8. Deliver the Necrotic Runestone to the Rotting Dwarf Corpse at coordinates [27.6, 85.4] in the Undercroft, southeast of the Eastern Plaguelands. You can use Orthas’ Favorite Gold Tooth to resummon Orthas anytime.

Righteous Vengeance: When your Judgement, Crusader Strike, or Divine Storm deals a critical strike, your target will take 50% additional damage over until cancelled.

How to get Righteous Vengeance:

  1. Speak with the Fallen Knight in Western Plaguelands at around [45, 46].
  2. Proceed to the barn near the Fallen Knight, speak with Squire Cuthbert at [47.8, 50.4], and accept the quest In a Bind.
  3. Find Squire Cuthbert’s Blade in the field and return it to Squire Cuthbert.
  4. Turn in the current quest and accept the new one titled Clearing the Path.
  5. Defeat the following Undead mobs located at coordinates [47, 51]:

7. Escort Squire Cuthbert to the body of the Fallen Knight.

8. Burn the body to finish the quest and collect the Righteous Vengeance Rune.

Shock and Awe: You gain 100% of your Intellect as Spell Damage for 1 min when you cast Holy Shock.

How to get Shock and Awe:

Obtaining the Shock and Awe Rune requires first acquiring the Righteous Vengeance Rune, as it continues the same quest chain.

  1. Once you’ve obtained the Righteous Vengeance Rune, accept the quest A Lesson in Violence from Squire Cuthbert in Western Plaguelands. This will grant you a Dalton’s Horn.
  2. Level up your Squire to 60 by battling enemies together (At the time of writing, there is a bug that prevents the Squire from leveling up if your character is already at level 60. We hope Blizzard will resolve this problem as soon as possible).
  3. When your Squire reaches level 60, he will present the quest A Time to Kill.
  4. Locate the elite Arkonos the Cursed at coordinates [87, 40] in the Eastern Plaguelands.
  5. Upon arrival, pick up the next quest, Close Enough to Touch, from your Squire.
  6. Defeat nearby Shadowmages and Dread Weavers until you get a Scourge Shadow Scalpel, which is necessary to dismantle the barrier surrounding Arkonos.
  7. Give the Scourge Shadow Scalpel to your Squire to receive the Finish the Fight quest.
  8. Defeat Arkonos the Cursed to receive the Shock and Awe Rune and the Testament of Avenging Wrath skill book as your reward.

Fanaticism Rune: Increases your critical strike chance with Holy spells by 18%.

How to get Fanaticism:

  1. Your first step is to go to the Stormwind Cathedral and speak to Aeonas the Vindicated and Katherine the Pure. After this action, you will receive a quest The Mysterious Merchant, which will redirect you to Theramore.
  2.  Find the paladin Elrick inside the Theramore Inn and turn in the quest. Afterward, you will receive another one called Elrick, Paladin of the Silver Hand.
  3.  Defeat Elrick’s minion and pick up a Bloody Missive item.
  4.  Click on it and start the quest called The Bloody Missive, which redirects you to Katherine the Pure
  5.  Turn in the quest, and you will get the Fanaticism Rune afterward.

How to Get Light’s Grace Rune in SoD

Light’s Grace Rune: Your Holy Light spell reduces the cast time of your next Holy Light spell by 0.5 sec. It lasts 15 seconds.

How to get Light’s Grace

  1. Go to Feralas and find Frix Xizzix. You must get teleported up to the platform near Wirdal Wondergear
  2. Your next move depends on whether or not you completed the Quadrangulation quest in Phase 2.
    • If you are done with it, head to Booty Bay and use the teleporter, which you can find due to the following macro: /way 27.6, 77.4.
    • If not, go to Feralas and find another teleporter with the help of this macro: /way 85.3, 43.6.
  3. Now, you are up close to Wirdal Wondergear and will surely see a Crashed Flying Machine lying on a pillar to the northwest. You can locate it thanks to this macro: /way 81 42. Afterward, you have to perform a tricky maneuver. 
  4. Open your Reputation window and set the Gadgetzan faction to “At War.” Then, brace yourself for attacking one of the three Tower Defense Automaton pets.
  5. First, head to the end of the ledge closest to the pillar and turn your back towards its direction.
  6. Then, find a Dragon version of the Tower Defense Automaton pets and attack it. After this action, you will be knocked back and silenced. Additionally, there is a possibility that you may fall and bite the dust. Just in case, take off your armor to avoid its further repair. However, if you have failed, you can always return to the teleporter and start over: /way 85.3, 43.6.
  7. You are almost done! Then, next to the burning flying machine, you will find Frix Xizzix, who needs your hand.
  8. Start healing him until you get a Feeling much better, thank you! effect, and the NPC stands up.
  9. Afterward, head to Booty Bay and find Rix Xizzix.
  10. Purchase the Rune of Grace from him, which costs only 1 gold.

Improved Sanctuary Rune: Increases the damage prevented by your Blessing of Sanctuary by 100% and increases damage done by your Blessing of Sanctuary by 30% of your shield block value.

How to get Improved Sanctuary

  1. Head to Felwood and receive a quest called The Wild Gods from a Shadowtooth Emissary.
  2.  Go to Jinth’Alor, which is in the Hinterlands, and defeat elite trolls to acquire a Wildwhisper Draught item.
  3.  Afterward, reach the Razorfen Downs zone and defeat Amnennar the Coldbringer.
  4.  Use the Wildwhisper Draught item on the ledge so the Spirit of Agamaggan can spawn. Turn in the current quest to him and receive another one called The Wild Gods. Additionally, you will get an Agamaggan’s Roar item.
  5.  Your next step is to collect 3x Wild Offering in Zul’Farrak, Maraudon, or Blackrock Depths. You can save time and run the same dungeon up to 3 times. 

Zul’Farrak

  1. First, find and defeat 2 or 3 bosses to make a Ghostly Spider spawn. If you have done everything alright, you will see the phrase “You feel a shadowed presence” in the chat.
  2.  Then, use the Agamaggan’s Roar item close to the Ghostly Spider. This action will summon a Delirious Ancient.
  3.  Defeat the boss and obtain your precious Wild Offering.

Maraudon

  1. After entering the dungeon, find and triumph over Princess Theradras. This action will make a Ghostly Raptor appear in the water on the upper level near the turtles.
  2.  Use the Agamaggan’s Roar item close to the Ghostly Raptor to summon a Delirious Ancient.
  3.  Defeat the boss and receive the Wild Offering item.

Blackrock Depths

  1. Defeat Houndmaster Grebmar, High Interrogator Gerstahn, and the Ring of Law. Afterward, a Ghostly Basilisk spawns on the Dark Iron Highway, which leads to Bael’gar. If you see the phrase “You feel a shadowed presence,” you have done everything alright.
  2.  Then, use the Agamaggan’s Roar item near the Ghostly Basilisk to summon a Delirious Ancient.
  3.  Defeat the boss and get the Wild Offering item.

Once you have completed all the steps, head to the Shadowtooth Emissary in Felwood and receive a Hyjal’s Wisdom item. It lets you learn the Improved Sanctuary Rune.

How to get Wrath Rune in SoD

Wrath Rune: Your Consecration damage can now be critical strikes, and damage from your Exorcism, Holy Shock, Holy Wrath, and Consecration spells gains an additional critical strike chance equal to your melee critical strike chance.

How to get Wrath

  1. Visit The Hinterlands and find a Vengeful Spirit using the Sense Undead spell. Ensure it only appears between 9 PM and 6 AM according to your server time.
  2. Once you have detected the spirit, defeat it and get the Rune of Wrath.
  3. It is unnecessary, but if you want, you may visit Magister Falath in Ironforge to familiarize yourself with the lore.

Desolace: Accept the Highway Robbery quest in Desolace at an Extinguished Campfire northwest of the Kodo Graveyard [47, 54].

All Paladin Runes in Season of Discovery Phase 2: How to Get Sacred Shield Rune in SoD

Sacred Shield Rune: Each time the target takes damage they gain a Sacred Shield, absorbing (36 */ 100) damage and increasing the Paladin’s chance to critically hit with Flash of Light by 50% for up to 6 sec. In addition, causes your Flash of Light to heal targets with Sacred Shield for an additional 100% over 12 sec. They cannot gain this effect more than once every 6 sec. Lasts 30 sec. This spell cannot be on more than one target at any one time.

How to get Sacred Shield: You’ll need Blessing of Freedom for this Rune, so make sure you’ve trained it beforehand.

How to get Hallowed Ground Rune in SoD

Hallowed Ground: Your Consecration now also heals party members within its area for 200% of Consecration’s damage value.

How to get Hallowed Ground:

Loch Modan: Head to the lowest level of the tavern in Thelsamar at [35.8 49.5] and loot the Libram of Blessings. Equip the Libram, then bless 5 players to gain a charge of the “Building Inspiration” buff with each blessing. Once you have enough charges, you’ll receive the Inspired buff. Right-click the Libram of Blessings again while it’s equipped to obtain the Rune.

Westfall: Go to the Jangolode Mine and defeat the Undying Laborer using Holy Damage to loot the Libram of Blessings. Equip the Libram, bless 5 players to gain “Building Inspiration” charges, and once you’ve gathered enough, you’ll receive the Inspired buff. Right-click the Libram again while equipped to get the Rune.

How to get Divine Light Rune in SoD

Divine Light: Heals a friendly target for 2389.965 to 2645.793. 50% of any excess healing on the target is converted into an absorption shield that lasts 15 sec. Multiple casts of Divine Light do not accumulate this shield. Divine Light benefits from all talents and effects that trigger from or modify Holy Light.

How to get Divine Light

  1. Speak to Brother Romulus in Stormwind Cathedral at coordinates [38.6, 28.8].
  2. After that, head downstairs into the Cathedral Catacombs. Go to the lowest level and enter the northern room. You’ll find the Charred Note on a ledge near some candles at coordinates [33, 24.7]. If it doesn’t show up right away when you enter the room, just wait a few minutes near the coffin, and it will respawn.
  3. Pick it up to obtain the Charred Note.
  4. With the note in hand, travel to a small island where the rivers of Elwynn Forest, Westfall, and Duskwood meet at [4.4, 28.4].
  5. Once there, challenge Ada Gelhardt. After bringing her to low health, she will surrender. Make sure you have enough space in your inventory before the fight, as the Rune won’t be sent by mail, and you can’t challenge her again once she’s defeated. Some players say mail can take hours to arrive, so it’s best to be ready in advance.
  6. Speak to her again to receive the Rune.

How to get Aegis Rune in SoD

Speak to Bartender Liv Bradford in the Park within Stormwind. She will mention that business has been affected by a local drunk near the tavern entrance. Engage in conversation with and defeat the drunkard. Afterward, return to the bartender to receive the Rune. It’s essential to note that only the player who initiates the fight by speaking to the drunk NPC can obtain the Rune, regardless of others tagging the target or delivering the last blow. Additionally, group credit will not count toward earning the Rune.

How to get Divine Sacrifice Rune in SoD

All Paladin Runes in Season of Discovery Phase 1: Divine Sacrifice

Divine Sacrifice Rune: 30% of all damage taken by party members within 30 yards is redirected to the Paladin for 10 sec. Damage which reduces the Paladin below 20% health will break the effect and grant the paladin 10% increased damage and healing done for 10 sec. Divine Sacrifice cannot be used while you are under the effects of Blessing of Protection, Divine Shield, or Divine Protection, and prevents you from being targeted by those abilities while it is active.

The Rune drops from the rare spawn Orc Dro’zem the Blasphemous [75, 82] around the northern Blackrock Orc cave of Redridge Mountains. The spawn time of this rare is approximately 10 minutes.

Aura Mastery: Causes your Concentration Aura to make all affected targets immune to Silence and Interrupt effects and improves the effect of all other auras by 100%. Lasts 6 sec.

Farm Defias Night Runners, Defias Night Blades, and Defias Enchanters in Duskwood until you get the Libram of Banishment. Equip the Libram, then use Turn Undead on an Undead enemy to make it flee, and finish it with Exorcism. Repeat this on five enemies to gain a charge of the Building Inspiration buff with each kill. Once you have the Inspired buff, right-click the Libram while it’s equipped to receive the Rune.

Additionally, while Righteous Fury is active, damage that takes you below 35% health is reduced by 20%. Righteous Fury will remain active until canceled.
