Marathon’s latest glitching teaser

Bungie has been teasing new Marathon details across multiple platforms. On April 3, 2025, the official Marathon Twitter account shared a glitching teaser video and updated its header image, breaking its silence since October 28, 2024.
The account has since become a lot more active, posting mysterious teases like a security alert and a strange glitching map.

Soon after, the PlayStation account also updated its header with Marathon design.

The game’s Steam page, Facebook, and YouTube channels were also refreshed, and a new MIDA profile appeared on Twitter. These updates have fueled speculation that a major reveal about the reboot of Marathon is coming soon.
Insider info and datamines
Industry insider Jeff Grubb revealed on the latest episode of Game Mess Decides that Bungie is gearing up to show more of Marathon soon. While nothing has been officially confirmed, Grubb’s reliable track record with Bungie-related leaks adds credibility to his claims.
Grubb mentioned that fans can expect a closer look at the game “late next week.” Earlier, he also hinted that Bungie might host its own showcase, separate from any larger PlayStation event, similar to what the studio did with Destiny 2.
Adding fuel to the speculation, about a month ago, Steam datamines uncovered three separate editions of Marathon:
- Base
- Extra+
- Extra++
Each version appears to come with pre-order bonuses, including a Destiny 2 crossover pack featuring exclusive skins and cosmetics. These discoveries strongly suggest that Bungie is preparing for a full pre-launch campaign.
Bungie has yet to announce an official release date or price for Marathon. However, the game is currently expected to launch in 2026, with a reported price of $40.
That said, everything mentioned here is based on rumors and speculation. We’ll have to wait and see what Bungie has in store.
