Table of Contents
Tokyo Game Show 2024 brings a lot of exciting news for the gaming industry. The first day was marked by presentations from Xbox and Capcom. The second day was all about Sega and Atlus games with some indie games in the mix. But we expect many more presentations in the following days as the convention will last from 26 to 29 September 2024.
Tokyo Game Show 2024 highlights: Xbox presentation
The Xbox presentation at the Tokyo Game Show 2024 was one of the most expected events of the convention. Many players were excited to see which games would join Xbox and PC gaming. Loads of new and old games will join the Microsoft family soon, some with day-one releases.
New games coming to Xbox and PC
A bunch of titles have been confirmed to be available on Xbox and PC on release. These games include:
Metal Gear Sold Delta: Snake Eater
Indiana Jones and the Great Circle

And many more smaller indie games.
A new Overwatch 2 My Hero Academia collab was also announced. A collaboration not many expected to happen.
Square Enix working with Xbox
Square Enix is bringing three classic titles to the Microsoft family:
Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster
Trials of Mana
Legend of Mana
As you can see, Xbox is bringing more and more Japanese studios to them. It was pretty common for Japanese games to be console exclusives, especially for PlayStation. But now, Xbox is bringing not only new games but also some old classics to PC. This means that Japanese developers are now paying more attention to PC gaming. It is hard to say if Xbox will continue to expand rapidly in the Asian markets due to that. But this is definitely a welcome dynamic in the gaming industry.
Tokyo Game Show 2024 highlights: Capcom presentation
One of the biggest companies in Japan, Capcom, focused its presentation on Monster Hunter. A massive overview of the new Monster Hunter Wilds was shown.
The end of the presentation focused on remasters of old fighting games like Street Fighter or Xmen. Although they are good games, it has become quite annoying with how much Capcom tries to bring them back. Capcom will try to keep them alive forever as long as they bring even the most minor bits of income.
Tokyo Game Show 2024 highlights: Sega and Atlus presentation
Sega and Atlus presented their own games. However there weren’t a lot of new trailers shown. Sega focused on Sonic x Shadows Generations and Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii with some gameplay and old trailers shown.
While Atlus focused on Metaphor: ReFantazio and Persona titles.
Some other games were presented for the japanese region like FC 25, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl and many more.
