Diablo 4 pets are counted as Necromancers’ minions, negatively impacting the power of these casters of the dark arts.

Diablo 4 pets are causing problems for Necromancer

Diablo 4 players have discovered that pets are being coded as minions in the game. This issue has significantly impacted Necromancers, especially those whose build revolves around not using minions. Opting for a minion-less build allows Necromancers to forgo minions in exchange for an added power boost. However, this strategy is disrupted by the presence of a pet companion, which affects both the Stand Alone passive and Sacrificial Glyph.

When a pet is active, players utilizing the Sacrificial Glyph notice a decrease in damage output. Likewise, the Stand Alone passive endures a 2% damage reduction due to pets’ presence. And so, Necromancers impacted by this issue are left with little recourse but to dismiss their pets.

But does that mean Necromancers will be denied the company of their fluffy companions forever? Fortunately, this is not the case. Community Manager Adam Fletcher confirmed on Twitter that the pet bug in Diablo 4 is not intended. He also reassured the player base that a fix is arriving in an upcoming patch:

“The pet items will be fixed in an upcoming patch. Not intended. They gotta fight to be a companion. Looking cute doesn’t count.”

— Community Manager Adam Fletcher

Fletcher didn’t specify a release date for the update. Still, the community remains hopeful that this issue will soon be addressed.
