Get ready for the biggest changes to Trials of Osiris in Destiny 2!
Table of Contents
Today, fans of Destiny 2 PvP received a huge article dedicated to the changes there. In a separate article, we talked about general changes in PvP, and in this one, we will touch on everything related to the Trials of Osiris. ToO (Trials of Osiris) is the most popular PvP content, so it’s no surprise that the developers are constantly improving it. Over the next two episodes, significant work will be done to enhance the gameplay of this mode. So, let’s take a look at what they’re preparing for us.
Trials of Osiris map rotation in Episode Revenant
For the first time since the introduction of ToO, the developers have announced the map rotation for Trials in Episode: Revenant, which will be as follows:
- Dissonance
- Cirrus Plaza
- Eventide Labs
- Javelin-4
- Burnout
- Endless Vale
- Altar of Flame
- Wormhaven
- Rusted Lands
- Midtown

Of course, the new Episode will also feature new rewards available in this mode:

New rewards are always exciting, but how about acquiring them? The developers have also introduced some beneficial changes here. The weekly weapon will have a 50% drop rate compared to the others, allowing players to earn godrolls much faster.
Future changes for Trials of Osiris in Episode Revenant and Heresy
If all the above content is released in Episode: Revenant, here’s what to expect during its course:
- There will be two Class-Based Trials Labs events where each team will have a Titan, Hunter, and Warlock during this episode.
- Increasing the Osirian Ciphers cap and allowing them to have a chance to drop as a post-win reward on 7-win cards.
- Reducing the stratification of FTMM (Fireteam Matchmaking) to allow duos to match trios more frequently, with the goal of providing loss forgiveness for any solo player filling in for a duo (if they complete the match).
Now, let’s talk about what Guardians can expect in the future, as the developers shared some details about what will appear in the Trials of Osiris rework for Episode Heresy:
- Adding new aesthetic rewards to Trials, including a new armor set for each class, as well as a new ship, Sparrow, Ghost, and an exclusive emblem.
- Making the Challenger pool less of an “all or nothing” experience that focuses on “Flawless or bust” gameplay.
- Bungie aims to improve the prestige of the Flawless aesthetic rewards so that high-skill players can flex appropriately. Seeing a player with a specific armor glow or a new Trials emblem should be meaningful and not just a generic trophy.
- The PvP Strike Team wants to bring more players into Trials by offering an alternative experience similar to Iron Banner, but for 3v3. The focus here is on making it rewarding to play, not necessarily reliant almost entirely on wins, to attract players who currently avoid Trials due to its perceived “high-stakes” nature.
- Developers also plan to update Dominion to better align with the modern sandbox. For example, they are experimenting with having the zone appear later in each round and increasing the time it takes to capture the zone, among other potential changes.
