There isn’t much information about Act III yet, but we do know for certain that these 3 things will be included:
- Classic Sunless Cell strike from Destiny 1: The Taken King
- Limited-time PvP mode Heavy Metal
- Rite of the Nine Dungeon Event.

Heresy Act III release date
Act III is set to launch on April 1, 2025.
While the end date remains unknown, some fans speculate it could last longer than Act I or Act II. Most likely, Act III will continue until the release of Apollo expansion this summer.

Heavy Metal mode
Heavy Metal is a limited-time PvP mode arriving in Act III. The main highlight of this event is the central role of vehicles in combat. Players will face off against each other, with one team piloting tanks and the other controlling Brigs. And there will be plenty of rockets flying around.

Rite Of The Nine Dungeon event
Another limited-time event is coming in Act III, and it’s free to play. Rite Of The Nine Dungeon is similar to Pantheon raid, that took place a year ago.
This time developers have prepared 12 unique weapons for players to choose from, each with exclusive designs and perks, specifically for Rite Of The Nine Dungeon. This event focuses on 3 classic dungeons:
- Prophecy
- Spire of the Watcher
- Ghosts of the Deep
The developers are tweaking the balance of these dungeons to bring them closer to Contest Mode difficulty. But whether you’re a casual or a hardcore player, you’ll find the right challenge with three difficulty levels:
- Explorer Mode
- Eternity Mode
- Ultimatum Mode
Players who complete these dungeons can earn weapon cosmetics, emblems, and new Seal as rewards.
