Destiny 2 leak hints at the return of firing range in game
Bungie could be working on the most requested feature for Destiny 2 — The firing range. The recent leak sparked excitement among players eagerly awaiting new content.

With less than a month to go before the release of Episode Heresy, the next major content drop, speculation is at an all-time high. The update promises the return of the iconic Dreadnaught destination, bone-themed weapons, new armor sets, fresh activities, and a Hive-centric storyline.
Over the years, Bungie has introduced game-changing mechanics like weapon crafting, but it’s also removed beloved features — most notably, the Tribute Hall, a shooting range-like location. This popular training ground lets players test weapons, tweak builds, and experiment with loadouts without diving into random Lost Sectors.
The return of a shooting range?
According to a reliable leaker known as Liz, Bungie might be working on a new firing range to fill the void left by the Tribute Hall. In a Discord message, Liz shared that their source — the same one who previously leaked the “Frontiers” expansion—claims Bungie is exploring this concept alongside the return of Armsday.
The firing range would reportedly be a new space in the Tower, separate from the Tribute Hall. Liz noted,
- “Armsday is returning at some point, as a weekly event like Iron Banner not Wednesday every week.
- Shooting range set up by Banshee.
This would be months out, so it could obviously get scrapped.”

If true, the firing range could become a dedicated spot for players to test weapons and refine builds — a long-requested feature. However, Liz speculated that Armsday might not work exactly as it did in Destiny 1, potentially introducing a fresh take on the mechanic.
A Long List of Fan Requests
While this leak is exciting, it’s important to take it with a grain of salt. Plans in game development are always subject to change. That said, the possible addition of a firing range aligns with other fan-requested features Bungie has considered, such as a ping system and even player housing. Interestingly, some of these features were seen in Destiny Rising, a mobile spin-off developed by NetEase, during its closed alpha.
