Mounts of Patch 9.2: Eternity’s End.

New patch – New mounts. What do we got this time?

With a recent release of patch 9.2 on PTR servers there was a surge of information regarding new mounts that will be coming with the new patch, once it hits the live servers.

Today we would like to show you some of the mounts and how to get them.

New mechanic: Protoform Synthesis.

Protoform Synthesis is a new sub-profession system that will be introduced in the Eternity’s End and will allow you to craft your own pets and mounts via recipes and materials found throughout Zereth Mortis. By taking part in this activity you will be able to create up to 23 mounts that resemble progenitor forms of the riding animals we saw before:

Raptora, Progenitor of Hawkstriders.
Helicid, Progenitor of Snails.
Tarachnid, Progenitor of Spiders.
Cervid, Progenitor of Stags and Talbuks.
Bufonid, Progenitor of Toads.
Vespoid, Progenitor of Wasps.
And even Vombata, Progenitor of Wombats.

Shadowlands Season 3 mounts.

With the release of 9.2 Shadowlands Season 3 will mark its beginning, bringing with it new seasonal mounts for both PvP and PvE players.

Mythic+ Dungeon-Enthusiasts will be able to get the Wastewarped Deathwalker mount by completing Shadowlands Keystone Master: Season 3 achievement, which is the same mount we had in both Seasons 1 & 2, but this time it’s bloody-red, making it a perfect fit for proud Venthyr players.

Meanwhile Rated PvP enjoyers will be able to get their hands on the Cosmic Gladiator’s Soul Eater – yet another “Maw Dragon”, but also tinted red this time keeping in the same theme as the Keystone Master mount.

More Torghast mounts.

Doesn’t seem like Blizzard are abandoning Torghast in 9.2, and instead are adding more layers, a Gauntlet mode and more mounts. This time around we are finally getting Mawrats as mounts. And not your run-of-the-mill Mawrats either. It’s the all new slim and armored Mawrats that come in a few different color tints. Completing all the new layers of Torghast with a perfect score will guarantee you one of them, which is a downgrade from the “Flawless Master horse” we got in 9.1 in my opinion, which is obviously subjective.

Sepulcher of the First Ones mounts.

SotFO being the last raid of Shadowland is guaranteed to have a mount reward for beating the Jailer in heroic mode, as for tradition we had for quite a few expansions now. Although not confirmed, it is highly believed that the Ahead of the Curve mount for this raid is going to be none-other than the Carcinized Zerethsteed. It uses the same animations as the mechgon spider-tanks and it does in fact fly.

We also have a confirmation to what is going to be the reward for completing “Glory of the Sepulcher Raider” achievement – it’s the Shimmering Aurelid, Progenitor of a jellyfish, and it is not an underwater mount, it actually flies similar to Ny’alotha Allseer.

Zovaal the Jailer is also bound to be dropping a mount in the mythic difficulty of the raid, and once again, not certainly but highly likely the mount is going to be the Zereth Overseer.

Despite its unique look I personally doubt many players actually liking its aesthetics, but don’t let me tell you what you should and shouldn’t like. In the end, when it comes to mounts it’s all about your personal taste.

The release date for patch 9.2 is still unknown as of the writing of this article, so there still might be changes and additions to the roster of new mounts.
