WoW Hardcore realms will be back online soon
Blizzard has announced that the WoW Hardcore realms, temporarily taken offline for maintenance, will return on November 20.
The news of WoW Hardcore realms’ temporary shutdown came from Community Manager Kaivax. According to the blue post, a bug in the latest patch had been discovered. To protect players’ progress and prevent disconnections or unfair character losses, Blizzard took the servers offline while they worked to resolve said issue.
At first, Blizzard stated they didn’t have an ETA for when the Hardcore realms would be back online. However, about two hours later, Game Producer Zorbrix provided an update. He confirmed that Blizzard had identified the cause of the instability and was working on fixes to resolve it safely. Zorbrix also mentioned that the Hardcore servers were expected to return online around 10 AM (EST) or 7 AM (PST), to implement the necessary code changes. Shortly after that, the Hardcore realms will go live again.
When Blizzard announced the temporary shutdown of the WoW Hardcore servers for maintenance, the community reacted with mixed feelings. Some fans appreciated Blizzard’s efforts and the communication from developers about the situation.
However, others were frustrated by the disruption and didn’t hesitate to express their displeasure across social platforms. Fortunately, the developers are fixing it now.
And that also means the WoW Fresh Classic Hardcore servers will be able to open as scheduled on November 21.
