Changes are inevitable for such old games as classic WoW. Most of them are aimed towards QoL changes for a better experience overall. WoW Fresh Classic servers will be launched with instant mail for your account-wide characters and the removal of the buff/debuff limit. And we will eventually get dual spec for the first time in Classic!
Fresh WoW Classic changes
Blizzard has announced that Fresh WoW Classic servers will be available on November 21. Meaning that players can walkthrough Classic Phases again, from leveling to Raids. They will eventually progress from Classic Era / Vanilla towards Burning Crusade. Many players have speculated that more changes will be implemented to the game for a better experience.
Outside of Blizzard’s change on GDKP in WoW Fresh Classic servers, they also announced more changes to the game. Community manager
Kaivax has announced in a blue post that WoW Fresh Classic will feature new changes as follows:
“UPDATED NOVEMBER 18
After working through a great deal of player feedback, we’ve decided to provide some additional changes that will be a part of Anniversary Realms.
- Instant mail between characters on the same account
- The removal of the buff/debuff limit
- Dual specs
Instant mail and removal of the buff/debuff limit will be implemented at launch, and dual spec will be enabled at a later date.“
— Community Manager, Kaivax
These are all Fresh WoW Classic changes that we know will be implemented 100% in the game. It should also be noted that at first, only instant mail and the removal of the buff/debuff limit will be presented. Dual spec will eventually arrive after the release of WoW Fresh Classic servers.
Players reaction
There has always been an active discussion about changes to legacy content. Many people think that Classic should be experienced as it was back in the early 20s. The only changes that such players accept are optimization for modern PCs and better graphics that don’t break immersion in the game. However, it should also be noted that adding dual specs to the game can benefit in many ways. Many Healers struggle while solo leveling, but with a dual spec system, they can easily respec to damage talents without spending up to 50 gold.
Many players believe Fresh WoW Classic shouldn’t be treated like a museum piece. Some changes are necessary to make the game more accessible. Players who experienced Vanilla in the past were often kids or students at the time. As they’ve grown up, they may no longer have the time for activities like World Buff runs or dealing with farming extra gold for respec. A dual spec addition with removing the buff limit may change the dynamic of WoW Fresh Classic.
Conclusion
WoW Fresh Classic won’t feel like a completely different game with these changes. Instead, it will allow players to either reexperience Classic or catch up on what they missed more comfortably with quality-of-life upgrades.
