Mining is a great profession to level in WoW Classic Fresh, especially for players looking to craft valuable items or earn steady gold. You’ll gather ores like Copper, Tin, Mithril, and Thorium, which are essential for crafting in professions like Blacksmithing, Engineering, and Jewelcrafting. Many of these ores can be sold for a good price at the Auction House, making Mining a good source of gold. Plus, it provides useful materials like Stone and Flux, which can help with crafting or be sold for extra profit.

The best combo with Mining in WoW Classic Fresh
If you level Engineering alongside Mining, the two professions work well together. Mining provides ores for crafting Engineering items, explosives, and gadgets. It also supplies important materials for Blacksmithing, making it a great choice for players focused on these professions. With Mining, you’ll have access to valuable resources for crafting, selling, and leveling up efficiently.
If you want to level Engineering or Blacksmithing you will require a lot of ore. And if you’re going to get top Plate gear from Blacksmithing expect to either buy lots of resources from auction houses, or level Mining.
As an honorable mention, you can level Mining on par with other gathering professions, like Skinning or Herbalism. In this case, you will make a lot of extra gold while leveling. There is a problem in Classic in which you can’t track both Mining Nodes and Herbs. However, it is easily fixable with macroses and addons like Gathermate.
Fresh WoW Classic Mining leveling
Before we start it is important to note some things about Mining.
In WoW Classic, there are some key differences from newer versions of the game that miners should know. First, you must have a Mining Pick in your inventory to gather from mining nodes. You can buy Mining Pick from Mining Suppliers vendors, they are often located near Mining Trainers. You can easily find them with the help of guards. Just ask them where are Mining trainers and you will have a mark that shows where are they.
Unlike newer versions, you can’t track both herbs and mines at the same time, so you’ll need to toggle between the skills or focus on one at a time. Many miners pair Mining with Skinning, as Skinning doesn’t require tracking. Also, if a mine is too high level for you, you won’t be able to mine it at all. Mining nodes do not give experience unlike in newer versions. Mining nodes may take 3-4 strikes to gather all resources, and you can only gain one skill point per vein.
To level Mining efficiently, it’s important to know where mineral veins spawn. These veins are often found near hills, cliffs, mountain ranges, zone borders, caves, and mines. Before traveling to a new zone, check that your Mining skill is high enough to gather ores in that area. Smelting ore into bars is a good way to gain experience, and bars usually sell for more gold than raw ore. However, check the prices before selling, as Silver ore often sells better than Silver bars.
In WoW Classic, multiple players can gather from the same mineral vein since it requires several hits to fully extract all materials. Ores have specific spawns in which they appear when a certain time passes. Through some specific and optimized routes, you can have a decent amount of guarantee Ore to mine. Mining leveling routes from 1 to 65:
Every starter zone has plenty of Copper Ore, so it doesn’t matter which one you pick. Night Elf players will need to wait until they reach Darkshore to start mining, as Teldrassil has no Copper Ore because it’s a tree. Be sure to buy a Mining Pick from the Mining Supply vendor near your trainer! You don’t need to equip it, but you must have one in your inventory.
Low-level players can ignore the red circles on the map. These circles mark areas with tough enemies. Most of these circles are for caves and mines that have Mining nodes, so don’t avoid them if you’re strong enough or in a group.
Mining leveling routes from 65 to 125:
Visit your trainer and learn Journeyman Mining when you reach level 50. You can mine Tin Ore, Copper Ore, and Silver Ore in these zones. At level 75, you can learn to smelt Silver Ore, which will help you reach level 125. Silver Ore and bars sell for about the same, so buy the ore, smelt it, and sell the bars at the auction house.
Mining leveling routes from 125 to 175:
Visit your trainer and learn Expert Mining when you reach level 125. In these zones, you can mine Iron Ore, Tin Ore, and Gold Ore. At level 155, you can learn to smelt Gold Ore. Buy around 30 Gold Ore, smelt them, and this should get you to level 175, just like with Silver Ore.
Mining leveling routes from 175 to 245:
Be sure to visit your Mining trainer and learn Artisan Mining when you reach level 225. You need to have at least level 200 in Mining to do this. In these zones, you can mine Mithril Ore and Truesilver Ore.
