Marvel Rivals Tier List criteria
The Marvel Rivals Tier List ranks all heroes in the game based on their effectiveness, versatility, and overall power. From cosmic entities like Adam Warlock to iconic heroes like Spider-Man, this analysis offers insights to help players make informed decisions, whether they’re casual participants or competitive enthusiasts.
The rankings primarily rely on data from Rivalstracker, evaluating characters based on performance across all ranks rather than separating them by skill levels. While gameplay varies significantly between Bronze and Grandmaster players, assessing overall performance provides a broader perspective. Key metrics such as Pick Rate and Ban Rate are also factored in, highlighting characters perceived as particularly strong or problematic by the community.
It’s important to remember that all Tier Lists are subjective and not entirely definitive. They reflect community trends, which can shift even in the absence of patch updates. This guide serves as a valuable reference but should be used alongside personal experience and playstyle preferences.

Marvel Rivals S-Tier heroes
These heroes dominate with high win rates and significant influence in the game.
- Storm (57.31% win rate, 17.80% pick rate, 37.16% ban rate)
- Invisible Woman (49.60% win rate, 51.04% pick rate, 2.76% ban rate)
Storm
Storm has undergone quite a transformation since the launch of Season 1. Players initially clamored for buffs, and now Storm is a formidable force. Despite only a slight damage increase from 50 to 55 on the left-click attack, the true game-changer has been the enhanced projectile speed. Players are now uncovering Storm’s full potential, often to great effect.
Here’s how to maximize Storm’s abilities:
- Stay with your team: Your aura is spherical, benefiting those around you. Stick with your allies to provide constant support.
- Primary Attack: Use it to cut through multiple enemies efficiently.
- Ultimate Ability: Target enemy Strategists for maximum impact.
- Avoid Hitscanners: Stay grounded to avoid being an easy target for enemy hits.
The passive buffs to damage and speed also bolster your team composition, making Storm an excellent choice for the Duelist role.
While we can’t predict how long Storm will remain in the S tier, she is currently a top pick in our Rivals ranked Tier List. Celebrate, Storm players — as your hero is shining bright!
Invisible Woman
Invisible Woman is a new star in Marvel Rivals, and players are quickly discovering how to harness her full potential. The unique kit, good healing, and devastating combos that can obliterate Duelists make her an instant S tier in our Tier List.
Here’s how to maximize Invisible Woman’s abilities:
- Positioning is Key: Invisible Woman thrives when played strategically. Use her invisibility to reposition, outmaneuver opponents, or set up ambushes. Staying elusive makes her difficult to target. And use her Psionic Vortex ability to disrupt flying targets.
- Primary Attack: While not the most powerful, her ranged attacks can apply consistent pressure and with other abilities + invisibility can be a devastating combo to defeat squishy targets.
- Ultimate Ability: Utilize her Ultimate to stall objectives, and outheal target Damage. In this case you can
- Utilize Invisibility smartly: Avoid overusing invisibility as an escape tool. Instead, use it to disrupt the enemy’s vision, escape from danger, or prepare for counterattacks. Timing is everything.
Her passive stealth is a huge buff to her mobility around the map. Invisible Woman excels in roles where stealth and control are crucial, making her a standout pick for support and utility-focused players.
Currently ranked highly in the Tier List, Invisible Woman is an S-tier contender, and if played well, she can provide invaluable utility and disruption. And players do agree with this as Invisible Woman became a quick fan-favorite among the community.
Marvel Rivals A-Tier heroes
Strong performers with great win rates and significant pick or ban presence.
- Doctor Strange (50.85% win rate, 39.28% pick rate, 4.37% ban rate)
- Hulk (51.40% win rate, 12.42% pick rate, 43.63% ban rate)
- Luna Snow (48.09% win rate, 30.20% pick rate, 30.60% ban rate)
- Rocket Raccoon (55.83% win rate, 25.32% pick rate, 0.60% ban rate)
- Cloak & Dagger (49.17% win rate, 45.36% pick rate, 3.11% ban rate)
Doctor Strange
Doctor Strange stands out as a top-tier character thanks to his powerful barrier, solid damage, and unique utility that surpasses Magneto.
His barrier is not tied to cooldowns like Magneto’s, making it more versatile and less reliant on perfect timing. However, the real game-changer is his portal ability, Pentagram of Farallah, which can completely dismantle defensive setups and turn the tide of battle.
This unique kit makes Doctor Strange a must-pick character. Even if you’re not a fan, it’s worth strategizing with your team in the second round to maximize the portal’s potential. Another key strength is his lack of effective counterplay against him, making him even more dominant.
Hulk
Hulk is a solid Vanguard who excels at disrupting the enemy front line and staying alive for most of the match. His Ultimate transformation is a powerful tool that can completely disable any enemy character. While Hulk doesn’t stand out in any specific area, he has no real weaknesses, making him a strong and reliable pick in the current meta.
Luna Snow
Luna Snow is the gold standard for the Strategist role. She excels at reaching objectives quickly, dealing solid damage, and providing burst healing. Her Absolute Zero ability offers excellent crowd control, making her not only hard to take down but also a serious threat. Most importantly, her ultimate, Fate of Both Worlds, is a game-changing tool for turning the tide of battle.
With Fate of Both Worlds, Luna can stall objectives, save Vanguards, secure offensive ground, and finish games. In fact, many characters’ viability depends on whether they can defeat Luna Snow during her ultimate.
Why isn’t Luna Snow S-Tier? Once her ultimate ends, it becomes much easier to counter her and her team. Additionally, she struggles against Invisible Woman, who offers stronger crowd control and an ultimate that, while shorter in duration, provides significant healing and invisibility.
Does this mean Luna Snow is weak? Not at all! In a healer Tier List, Luna would be S-Tier alongside Invisible Woman. However, her kit has limitations, and skilled players can learn to counter her ultimate over time.
Rocket Raccoon
Rocket Raccoon has become much more relevant in Season 1, thanks to a buff to his healing ability and, more importantly, his free resurrect skill, B.R.B. Unlike some healers, Rocket can heal flying targets with ease, as his healing orbs can be launched anywhere, adding to his versatility.
In Season 0, Rocket was often considered weak, and players were frequently asked to switch off him. However, opinions have shifted. With the rise of powerful healers like Luna Snow, Invisible Woman, and Mantis, and as flankers have become better at utilizing health packs, a versatile second healer like Rocket has become much more valuable.
Rocket’s ability to escape Storm’s Ultimate, resurrect teammates, and provide armor (and even free ammo for Punisher and Winter Soldier players) makes him a strong pick.
All of this cements Rocket Raccoon as an A-Tier character in the current meta.
Cloak & Dagger
Finally, let’s talk about Cloak & Dagger. Previously in Season 0, even though her versatility kit was strong, her Healing was often outmatched by other Strategists. Now with her Healing getting better, she became much more prevalent in the meta.
Marvel Rivals B-Tier heroes
Balanced but not dominant. Often chosen and capable of holding their ground in most matches.
- Adam Warlock (50.68% win rate, 8.86% pick rate, 0.26% ban rate)
- Black Panther (50.72% win rate, 7.89% pick rate, 4.66% ban rate)
- Thor (52.67% win rate, 18.16% pick rate, 0.31% ban rate)
- Peni Parker (53.57% win rate, 18.63% pick rate, 0.47% ban rate)
- Mantis (53.41% win rate, 19.73% pick rate, 2.34% ban rate)
- Loki (51.35% win rate, 14.11% pick rate, 1.28% ban rate)
- Magik (53.38% win rate, 11.03% pick rate, 2.44% ban rate)
- Hela (49.43% win rate, 14.32% pick rate, 27.55% ban rate)
- Moon Knight (48.29% win rate, 25.14% pick rate, 1.09% ban rate)
- Iron Man (49.71% win rate, 11.42% pick rate, 0.63% ban rate)
We won’t focus on each Hero in B-Tier in our Tier List. However, we will take a look at some unique cases that were either affected by nerfs (Like Hela), have unique meta placement (Like Wolverine), or have relatively high win-rate towards their pick-rate (Like Peni Parker).
Mister Fantastic
Mister Fantastic combines traits of both Vanguard and Duelist characters, but does that make him Top-tier? It’s hard to say for sure. While his abilities are solid, and skilled players can use his Vanguard mechanics to stay alive for a significant part of the game, he lacks the damage to replace a dedicated DPS character.
His strengths lie in providing utility through shields and quick counter-engagements, but his damage output could be improved. Mister Fantastic is in a good spot right now, and with potential buffs, he could rise to become an S-Tier character in our Marvel Rivals Tier List. We’ve also made a guide for a more in-depth look at Mister Fantastic.
Hela
Many players believe that Hela has fallen out of the meta, but her damage output remains unchanged. The only nerf she received was a reduction in her HP from 275 to 250. Did it have an impact? It seems so. Hela is no longer as dominant in matches. This could be due to a placebo effect lowering her popularity, or simply because players have adapted to her damage and learned how to counter her effectively.
Hela is still a strong pick despite being slightly squishier, making her a solid choice for climbing the ranks. However, she’s no longer the powerhouse she once was in Season 0. Will it change? Probably, but right now let’s put Hela in B-Tier for our Marvel Rival ranked Tier List.
Peni Parker
Peni Parker excels as a defensive anti-dive tank but requires careful planning to shine. Many players underestimate her potential, often misusing her abilities, especially in lower ranks. While her kit is straightforward, mastering her playstyle can make her a valuable asset to any team.
Here’s how to get the most out of Peni Parker:
- Set Up Your Nest: Always find a safe spot for your Spidernest. It provides healing, makes your mines and drones invisible, and spawns drones to chase enemies. Protect it, but know when to let it go if staying alive takes priority.
- Mine Placement: Use mines strategically. Stack them for smaller choke points or line them up to cover larger areas. For non-Vanguard enemies, three mines are enough to secure a kill. And more can even one-shot Luna Snow in her Ultimate.
- Spam Stuns: Peni’s secondary fire has a 3-second cooldown, so use it constantly to interrupt enemies or set up kills for your team.
- Adjust for the Mode: On defense, set up early at choke points to control space. On attack, keep moving your nest forward to support your team and pressure the enemy.
- Use Mobility Wisely: Peni’s “F” ability is on a short cooldown, making her surprisingly mobile. Use it to reposition, escape, or quickly return to your nest.
- Matchups to Watch Out For: Peni struggles against characters like Iron Man and Winter Soldier, who can disrupt her setup or deal consistent AoE damage. Use her stun to counter dangerous abilities like ultimates or healing.
Peni Parker is an excellent choice for players who can manage positioning and timing. While not top-tier, she offers great utility and strong defensive capabilities, making her a B-Tier in our Tier List.
Wolverine
Wolverine has a really strange trend, the higher the rank he goes, the more usage he has. What’s the deal? Wolverine thrives as a frontline disruptor, excelling at isolating enemies and breaking team formations. His kit is designed to target tanks, dragging them away from their supports and leaving them vulnerable to your team’s damage. Mastering Wolverine means knowing when to strike and when to retreat.
Here’s how to play Wolverine effectively:
- Feral Leap: Wolverine’s leap isn’t a ranged attack — it’s a grab. Use it to pull the enemy tank into your team’s territory. Stand close, activate “Undying Animal” to mitigate incoming damage, and leap with your target back to safety.
- Stay with your team: Wolverine is not a solo flanker. Stick close to your Vanguard and supports, using cover to avoid unnecessary damage.
- Target the Frontline: Focus on harassing tanks, not diving deep into enemy lines. Use “Vicious Rampage” as a gap closer when enemies try to escape.
- Ultimate Ability: Max out your rage before activating Wolverine’s ultimate. It’s most effective for multi-enemy pickups, allowing you to one-shot clusters of enemies if aimed correctly. Stay near your team and aim to disrupt enemy positioning.
Wolverine is a team-oriented brawler, best used to divide and conquer. His ability to isolate tanks and pressure the frontline makes him a strategic asset, even if his damage output isn’t overwhelming. Stay disciplined, work with your team, and Wolverine will prove to be a powerful tool in Marvel Rivals.
Marvel Rivals C-Tier heroes
Underperformers who might require more strategic support to succeed.
- Scarlet Witch (47.98% win rate, 10.36% pick rate, 0.09% ban rate)
- Iron Fist (48.14% win rate, 4.34% pick rate, 0.56% ban rate)
Scarlet Witch
Scarlet Witch performs well in the Bronze and Silver ranks but struggles to shine on her own. Despite receiving some decent buffs, she still lacks the ability to burst down other characters. Mobile heroes can easily outmaneuver her, and her Ultimate is often countered or ignored, especially with tools like Peni Parker’s Cyber-Web Snare. Additionally, Scarlet Witch’s abilities are predictable, making her less effective against higher-rank players.
As the meta evolves and players adapt, Scarlet Witch could improve her standing on the Tier List. For now, however, she remains firmly in the C tier.
Iron Fist
Iron Fist faces similar challenges to Scarlet Witch, performing better in lower ranks where there are fewer obstacles. However, Iron Fist is arguably weaker. Unlike Scarlet Witch, whose Ultimate can counter Luna Snow’s Ultimate, Iron Fist lacks the damage needed to overcome Luna Snow’s healing.
While Iron Fist is decent as a flanking Duelist, his impact is limited. He’s still a solid character, but he would benefit from some adjustments to improve his performance. For now, Iron Fist remains in the C tier of the Tier List.
Marvel Rivals D-Tier heroes
Struggling heroes with low win rates and minimal influence.
- Jeff the Land Shark (42.57% win rate, 9.75% pick rate, 0.46% ban rate)
- Hawkeye (42.99% win rate, 5.77% pick rate, 7.13% ban rate)
- Black Widow (40.24% win rate, 2.70% pick rate)
Jeff the Land Shark
Jeff doesn’t feel good right now in Marvel Rivals. Many players speculate that his win rate skewed because of Season 1 nerfs to his Ultimate ability. However, the nerfs to his Ultimate won’t be crucial and were made to make it more clear for the enemy side. Many players just adapted to Jeff’s game-changing Ultimate, keeping their escape cooldowns for the momentum when Jeff announces his Ultimate.
His healing is strong, but Jeff struggles to heal flying allies. And when it comes to stalling the objective, he gets outmatched by Luna Snow, Mantis, and Invisible Woman. His damage also is nothing to be proud of, and the only way you can quickly heal up your ally is by spamming AOE bubbles into your teammate. This doesn’t mean that Jeff is unplayable, as his Ultimate is still one of the strongest. But the Land Shark really would benefit from some healing buffs.
Hawkeye
Hawkeye with Hela were the biggest menaces in Season 0, however, now Hawkeye is at the bottom of our Marvel Rivals hero Tier List. His nerf even so was serious, shortening his Archer’s Focus from 60m to 40m, but didn’t change the fundamentals of his gameplay. What’s the deal then? The main thing is that to outperform other DPSes Hawkeye players need to be extremely skillful.
And with the addition of Invisible Woman, and Wolverine buffs Hawkeye players who were playing Hawkeye normally now switch towards other characters like Baki, Storm, Psylocke, or even Black Panther. Also, Hawkeye can’t do anything versus stalling Ultimates like Luna Snow Fate of Both Worlds, and Invisible Woman Invisible Boundary.
Even so, Hawkeye’s performance overall struggles in our Marvel Rivals ranked Tier List, players who main him and can perform absurd shots are still a menace.
Black Widow
Black Widow is another case of a character that only a few players can develop to their full potential. The main difference between her and Hawkeye is that she never had a glow-up and it seems she won’t get a high spot in Season 1 too. Don’t get us wrong, you can obliterate squishy characters with Black Widow and snipe flying heroes. But with barriers in the game, and mobile characters like Spider-Man, Wolverine, and Black Panther you will struggle a lot with this character.
Unfortunately, Black Widow can’t hit this spot, making her one of the bottom-tier characters.
Conclusion
This Tier List provides valuable insights into the game’s current meta, offering a comprehensive ranking of characters from S-tier powerhouses to D-tier underperformers. Whether you’re looking to dominate matches with top picks like Storm and Invisible Woman or experimenting with lower-ranked heroes like Jeff the Land Shark, understanding this Marvel Rivals Tier List will help you understand community insights.

Keep in mind that the Tier List is influenced by overall community trends, player skill, and pick rates across all ranks. If you are still struggling with these trends and stuck in low ranks?
