The community is divided by the new Brawl Stars Kenji controversy. The question stands — is Kenji OP? Let’s take a look.
Table of Contents
Kenji is the latest Brawler in the Brawl Stars’ ever-expanding roster. With the initial hype gone, some players complain about Kenji being too OP. This is after he got a noticeable nerf during the recent Balance changes. Let’s look at the points presented by both sides.
Brawl Stars Kenji controversy: Kenji is OP
The complaining side points out Kenji’s survivability as the main reason for his success.
The Nigiri Nemesis Starr Power gives Kenji a 90% damage reduction for the next hit if he doesn’t get hit for 5 seconds. The 5-second charge time is minimal, allowing Kenji to almost always have that buff. Any player unaware of this can waste his Super or powerful attacks on Kenji, losing 90% of their damage.
His Hosomaki Healing Gadget allows him to heal 50% of the damage he received in the last 3 seconds. This Gadget was nerfed from 75%, a significant nerf, but it still allows him to survive longer.
Despite constructive criticism, some haters don’t like Kenji as a character and gladly join the complaining crowd, making it harder for the actual point to be heard.
Brawl Stars Kenji controversy: Kenji is not OP
The opposing side uses the bigger picture as the main argument. Their point is that while Kenji is strong, many other Brawlers are more OP and need more nerfs. This means there is no actual argument about whether Kenji is strong. They think Kenji is not the only problem with the game’s balance.
Of course, some people are tired of the drama. They understand the point of the complaints but are tired of the discussion.
