Midnight prepatch release date

The Midnight prepatch launches on January 20.
Midnight prepatch overview

Patch 11.2.7 sets the stage for the Midnight pre-patch and the expansion’s launch. Housing takes center stage, but there’s plenty more packed in. New events, catch-ups, and features aimed at giving every type of player something to dig into before Midnight arrives.
Demon Hunter Devourer

Devourer Demon Hunter will be playable as soon as December 20 hits. Devourer DH is a mid-range DPS spec that blends melee and ranged combat while channeling Void-based abilities, as well as high mobility.
Note
Besides the new specialization, Demon Hunters are also getting a new race option with Void Elves.
The specialization unlocks automatically for all Demon Hunter players with the prepatch. In addition, Vengeance Demon Hunters will swap the Fel-Scarred hero talent tree for a new shared hero tree, Annihilator, which is also used by Devourer.
Twilight Ascension

The prepatch event, Twilight Ascension, will start on January 27. The event includes new world quests, ritual-based rare spawns appearing every 10 minutes, and the return of the Twilight Cultist armor set. Rewards include mounts, pets, housing decor, themed weapons, and item level 121 Champion-track catch-up gear. Perfect for gearing your alts fast for Midnight.
Class and talent updates

All 39 specializations receive talent updates in the Midnight prepatch, including reworks and tuning changes. Hero talent trees gain a new fourth column, though full access to all hero talents unlocks later while leveling to 90 in Midnight.
Midnight item level squish

The Midnight prepatch introduces World of Warcraft’s fourth stat squish, scaling down player stats, damage, and health across the game. Item levels are also reduced, with characters dropping from around 700 ilvl to roughly 100 ilvl.
Housing Endeavors

Player Housing continues to evolve in the Midnight prepatch with the introduction of Charter Neighborhoods and Endeavors. Charter Neighborhoods allow players to create private communities without requiring a guild, while Endeavors are montly events similar to Trading Post that unlock visual upgrades and new decor.
