Table of Contents
Unlike the previous 9.07 Patch, Valorant Patch 9.08 brings new changes, including Sunset rework, the release of the new Team Deathmatch map “Glitch,” and updates to Yoru’s Fakeout and Gekko’s abilities. Let’s dive into the details.
Valorant Patch 9.08: Agent updates
Gekko
Since Gekko’s utility was buffed in Patch 7.12 his ability to use and reclaim his Globules without any problems became a problem. The following changes aim to encourage quicker reclaiming and give opponents more opportunities to punish Gekko for reckless play.
- Globules: Time in the world reduced from 20s to 15s. Reclaim time increased from 1s to 1.5s.
- Dizzy: Active time reduced from 1.5s to 1s. Dizzy’s targeting algorithm is more reliable, and Dizzy’s goop flash now blinds affected players’ minimaps.
- Wingman: Concuss area increased from a 45-degree cone to 65 degrees. Unique visuals appear when Wingman turns into a globule after planting the Spike.
- Thrash: Ultimate points increased from 7 to 8.
Yoru
Yoru’s Fakeout clone wasn’t interacting properly with other abilities, making it easy to tell apart from the real Yoru. The patch tries to address this problem.
- Blind abilities like Gekko’s Dizzy and Vyse’s Arc Rose will now affect Yoru’s Fakeout clone like a real Agent.
- Cypher’s Neural Theft will reveal Yoru’s Fakeout clone.
- Clove’s Meddle will apply the decay effect to the Fakeout clone.
- Vyse’s blind celebration lines will trigger when she blinds the Fakeout clone.
Other changes
Jett’s Tailwind and Skye’s Trailblazer will no longer stop at the window in Ascent. They will now pass through it, continuing on the other side.

Sunset rework
Sunset has received many changes, the focus of which was on the B Site and B Main areas of the map. Developers want to make B Site plays more interesting and unique. Those changes make the B Site much easier to attack, so defenders must find new strategies to play on this Site.
