Zenless Zone Zero 1.1: Story, characters, events, and more!
Zenless Zone Zero version 1.1 has been announced. Here is everything we know from the developer’s live stream.

After a successful start, the game still has a lot of improvements to make. Zenless Zone Zero Version 1.1 will be released on August 14. Zenless Zone Zero Version 1.1 story update
Zenles Zone Zero 1.1 starts with a new Special episode Undercover R&B. The story is focused on PubSec officers and their fight against a criminal organization known as The Lion Mountain Gang. This story continues from our first interaction with PubSec, where we helped Zhu Yuan and Qingyi organize an event.
The new story will open a PubSec station location where some of the action will take place.
The Lion Mountain Gang has seen a new person rise through their ranks. A mysterious woman Jane Doe. She appears to have her agenda, and PubSec officers will try to deal with her.
During the story, Jane Doe also appears as a boss-enemy in a fight. Fighting her may be tricky as she is quick and much smaller than previous bosses we have faced.
The update will also feature an Agent Story for Qingyi. We already met her during the main story and now as she enters the playable character roster we will be able to learn more about her.
Zenless Zone Zero Version 1.1 new characters
Qingyi
We’ve already seen Qingyi in the main story; however, in Zenless Zone Zero 1.1, she finally becomes playable. She is an Android/Robot with multiple special powers that aid her in her work as a PubSec officer.
Qingyi is an S-Rank Electric-type character that specializes in stuns. Her fast attacks quickly accumulate Daze. This allows Qingyi to be a perfect match for Zhu Yuan who wants a stun character.
Qingyi will be featured in the first banner of Zenless Zone Zero 1.1 so she is coming out on August 14. Her signature W-Engine Ice-Jade Teapot will be featured alongside her.
Jane Doe
The fast and unpredictable nature of Jane Doe makes a formidable force. She quickly rises through the ranks of the Lion Mountain Gang. She also will be a playable character in Zenless Zone Zero 1.1.
Jane Doe is an S-Rank Physical type character that specializes in anomaly generation. Her speed allows her to accumulate Anomaly rapidly to deal massive damage.
She will featured on the second banner of the patch with her Signature W-Engine Shrapened Stinger.
Seth Lowell
Seth Lowell is another new character we haven’t seen yet. He is a PubSec officer working with Zhu Yuan and Qingyi on the Lion Mountain Gang case.
Seth is an A-Rank Electric-type character that specializes in Defense. He uses a shield and baton in the field, providing a defense bonus for the team. He can also connect his baton and shield to form a sword, dealing damage to enemies.
Seth Lowell will be a featured A-Rank character on Jane Doe’s banner and will be together with his W-Engine Peacekeeper Specialized.
New Bangboo Officer Cui
In addition to all the new characters, Zenless Zone Zero 1.1 will also add a new bangboo to the roster. Officer Cui is an S-Rank bangboo specifically made for the PubSec officer team. He performs follow-up attacks on the enemy if your team features 2 or more PubSec officers.
He will be added to the Bangboo Banner from the start of the 1.1 version. Players can select him as the desired bangboo on this banner.

Using characters outside of combat
One of the main features that the community wanted was the ability to walk in the overworld using their agents. The developers said they are working on that feature and will introduce it later, and it is not coming in Zenless Zone Zero Version 1.1
However, as a glimpse of hope we will be able to experience the new story from Jane Doe’s perspective and walk as her in some areas of the game.
Hollow Zero Update
Another big problem the community complained about was the TV exploration system used in the story and Hollow Zero. Unfortunately, the developers have not removed this feature. However, the new Hollow Zero mode, Inferno Reap, will let players experience combat without any TV exploration sections.
If the community gives positive feedback on this new mode Hoyoverse may further reduce the amount of TV exploration.
Selfie Mode
Selfie mode is another new feature in Zenless Zone Zero 1.1. Players can turn the camera around and take selfies of their character and surroundings.
Zenless Zone Zero Version 1.1 new events
Camelia Golden Week
This event is featured around a holiday in New Eridu. During the celebrations, PubSec officers will be deployed to protect people on the streets. Proxies and hollow raiders will try to take advantage of their workload.
Playing through different missions during the event will grant you Polychrome, upgrade materials, and an A-rank W-Engine Gilded Blossom.
First Class Customer Service
In this event, players will help people fix and tune their Video players. This event features a mini-game that focuses on the precision of your inputs.
Daily Life of a PubSec Officer
As the name suggests, players will be able to experience the daily life of a PubSec officer. They will be helping the citizens of New Eridu with their problems.
Scene One, Shot One!
In scene one, shot one! Players will help a film director. They will be tasked to take different photos of New Eridu residents. Players can use unique photo filters. They will need to meet the criteria to earn rewards.
Other events
Some other events have been featured during the livestream. However, not much has been explained about them. Players will have to wait for their release to learn full details.
Log in Events
As expected Zenless Zone Zero Version 1.1 will also feature log-in events. Log in for 7 days to get 10 Encrypted Master Tapes and 10 Boopons.
