An audacious attempt to CTRL C, CTRL V the video game masterpiece, Baldur’s Gate 3, has recently been exposed. This imposter of a mobile game is titled “Balder War.” It reproduces not just the artwork, but also the UI and even gameplay, with only slight differences here and there.

Developed by Initial Link, Balder War completely ripped off the promotional artwork from Baldur’s Gate 3. It transforms Astarion and Lae’zel into K-pop idols. Meanwhile, Gale and Wyll are merged into a new character bearing a generic mobile game aesthetic.

Even its UI is a 1:1 replica of Larian Studios’ creation.

Following the uproar, Balder War has been promptly removed from the App Store. However, the questions about its legitimacy as a bona fide product linger.

It’s unclear whether Larian Studios may pursue legal action against Initial Link.
