The First Descendant new descendant teaser: who is it?
Nexon revealed a teaser for the new descendant. There are some theories on who it may be. Let’s explore.

The teaser revealed only the character’s outlines, giving us a rough idea of their appearance. But from those bits, the community already has some possible answers. Let’s try to find who it is.
New Descendant identity theories
The teaser was released on August 13 with a question “Guess Who?”
The picture shows the outlines of a female character holding a massive sniper rifle, with her hairstyle visible. From these clues, the community has identified two possible candidates.
Dominique
The first guess is Dominique. She is an NPC in the game. But most notably she is a sniper. So the community quickly started to share the idea that it was her.
It is not new for NPCs to become playable. However, it should also be noted that Dominique has some differences from the image. First of all, she has a hood. And even if we presume she took the hood off her hair seems to be quite short compared to how low it goes on the teaser picture.
The other question is the size of the sniper rifle. The rifle Dominique usually carries is much smaller than the one shown in the teaser. Although we can see some changes to the character’s design as they become a new descendant, it is still far from certain that the teaser shows Dominique.
Captain Harris
The other possible candidate is Captain Harris. She is picked out for her similar hairstyle and standing pose to the character in the teaser. Also, there is an argument to be made that her glasses can be seen sticking out from her head shape in the teaser.
There are of course problems with this idea too. As you can see she has 2 robotic arms. It is hard to imagine she will decide not to use them. Also, her hair similarity is questionable as her ponytail is much higher than her head, unlike the character in the teaser.
This theory seems less likely, but we can’t rule it out entirely.
Hailey
This is the last possible variant. Unfortunately, we don’t have any images of this character. We only have a description from an old data mine to work with. This means it can be a code name and the ideas can be changed to fit Dominique, Captain Harris, or any other future character.
Interestingly, this character is described as sniper-themed and associated with cold or ice-related abilities. This matches well with the text in the teaser post.
New descendant possible release date
While there’s no official date yet, based on the content plan, the new descendant is expected to be released in the first season of the game, starting in late August.
