Seething Opals buff: Undocumented change by Blizzard
Blizzard has just boosted the Seething Opals buff. However, they did it without documenting the change. Instead, one of their employees announced those changes in the X post.

Seething Opals are new types of consumables that work like elixirs. They increase your XP gain for 30 minutes while providing extra bonuses. These bonuses can range from dropping additional equipment from enemies to giving extra reputation for Zakarum Remnants. Many players were unsatisfied with bonuses. Players from Reddit and X mainly described them as applicable only to Paragon grind.

However, Don Adams, currently the content supervisor for Diablo 4, recently posted on X. He announced Stealth changes for the Diablo 4 live 2.0.3 update in his post. These changes primarily affect Seething Opals’ usability. For example, they’ve become more valuable in The Pit, Infernal Hordes, Citadel, and Undercity!
Here’s the summary of new undocumented changes
- Increased Zakarum Remnants rep from defeating a Realmwalker
- Seething Opals proc their bonus loot and rep more often, especially in the overworld
- Increased rep per proc
- More bonus loot and rep when collecting rewards in The Pit, IH, UC, Citadel with an Opal active
We hope players will like these new additions to Seething Opals. However, we also hope Blizzard will announce such details more clearly, or at least in a blue post.
