Call of Duty titles Coming to Xbox Cloud Gaming
Microsoft brings Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, Modern Warfare III, and Warzone to Xbox Cloud Gaming with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.

Fans of Call of Duty can look forward to play the new Black Ops 6, with availability across PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Xbox Cloud Gaming on day one. It will also be the first Call of Duty title available on Xbox Game Pass at launch.
Call of Duty titles join Xbox Cloud Gaming
Microsoft will release Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, Modern Warfare III, and Warzone on Xbox Cloud Gaming on October 25, marking the first time a Call of Duty game will be available on the cloud from its launch day. This move follows Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision Blizzard. It aims to enhance accessibility for Call of Duty fans across multiple devices, including consoles, PCs, mobile phones, Amazon Fire and Samsung TVs, and Meta Quest headsets.
Ashley McKissick, Xbox’s corporate vice president of gaming experiences and platforms, called this decision “a win for the community,” noting how it will allow more gamers to enjoy the franchise. To access these Call of Duty games via the cloud, players will need an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription, which provides cloud gaming across various platforms.
Xbox Cloud Gaming plans besides Call of Duty
Additionally, this launch aligns with Microsoft’s broader strategy for Xbox Cloud Gaming. Starting next month, the company will begin testing a feature that lets players stream games they own that aren’t part of the Game Pass library. This test will initially be available to Xbox Insiders, with plans to expand access to more players over time.
While the Call of Duty launch is a major step forward, it’s notable that some other Activision Blizzard titles, like Diablo 4, still haven’t made it to the platform. This is partly due to the cloud gaming rights for Activision titles being sold to Ubisoft as part of the UK’s Competition and Markets Authority approval for the Microsoft-Activision deal.
In a related update, starting November 1, Microsoft will enable game purchases through the Xbox mobile app for Android users in the US. This new feature, following a court ruling that requires Google to allow alternative payment systems in the Play Store, will let users buy Xbox games directly through the app and stream them instantly.
