AI images are a recent development, and it is relatively easy to distinguish them from work made by real people. Or is it? The community is not so sure, as there is a discussion about new Prestige icons in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6.
Black Ops 6 Prestige icons
Activision revealed the Prestige icons in question just recently. The Prestige system allows players to reset their progression and earn more rewards. One of those rewards is a Prestige icon. For every prestige level, you will get one new prestige icon to showcase your accomplishments.
Black Ops 6 Prestige icons: made by AI argument
Some started to claim AI made the icons. The claims primarily relate to the Prestige 1 icon with a Zombie and the Prestige 3 icon with the Black Ops 6 reference. They find weapons looking unrealistic. The Zombie icon also seems inconsistent, with one arm having two sleeves and only one on the other side. The inside of the Zombie’s mouth also looks strange.
Many others in the comments also jump on the hate, trying to find any inconsistencies and mistakes in the images. Sometimes, claims are too ridiculous to take seriously, like this user claiming there is an extra letter in the Welcome to Nuketown icon.
Black Ops 6 Prestige icons: not made by AI argument
While most users quickly jumped on the hate wagon, some investigated whether it was AI.
The main claim on the defense side is that although it looks like AI, it is authentic, and the problem is with the art style. For example, the weapon on the Black Ops 1 Icon is the same as on the original image the icon claims to reference. The Zombie will also look normal with the sleeves if you consider the position of the arms.
Black Ops 6 Prestige icons: neutral side
While many users almost instantly took a side, some players didn’t like the overall idea of the argument. While Prestige Icons are hard to get, they are not made to be viewed up close. In the actual game, their size will be so small that you will never notice most of the details pointed out.
The other argument is that even if the icons are made by AI, there is no actual reason to hate them, and many users like them the way they are.
