Brawl Stars player count at Time to Explain
Following the discussion about recent events and the lack of new permanent features in the game, the developers started to discuss the game’s rise following those recent events and collaborations.
As you can see on this graph provided by the devs, the new rise started in late 2023. Following through 2024 with events like Godzilla and SpongeBob collabs or classic Brawl, you can see a significant rise from both the average and peak player count.
This not only means that new events attract players’ attention but also that they are capable of retaining a large number of them during low periods. Both the peak and average player count are much bigger than they were before.
The problem is that developers didn’t provide any numbers with this graph to keep this information from rival companies. However, what matters is the trend. Developers understand why the rise happened and will consider this moving forward.

Later in the podcast, developers also revealed other interesting information about the player base. First, starting in 2024, the number of new players playing the game has risen by over 50% of the total player count.
However, this does not mean that the game is losing old players, as the number of returning players is also at an all-time high. This means that the new events not only keep new players engaged but also are a reason for old players to try the game again.
The developers also revealed that players actively engage with new Brawlers more than ever. As the number of people playing the new Brawler is always high, Moreover players unlock new Brawlers faster than ever, meaning they have much more variety in their choices.
A question was asked about the country with the largest Brawl Stars player base. Although developers dodged the answer, they said the game is very popular in countries like Germany, Turkey, and Brazil and rapidly growing in the US, Japan, and Mexico.
