He’s the twin brother of Illidan Stormrage, husband to Tyrande Whisperwind, and father to his adopted daughter Shandris. Malfurion is often affectionately addressed as Shan’do, meaning “honored teacher” in Darnassian. He’s renowned as one of the most powerful and esteemed mortals in the Warcraft universe.

In the latest development regarding his fate, Malfurion sacrificed himself to resurrect Ysera, allowing her to leave Ardenweald. For her to return to life, he had to take her place in death.
