Players embrace Helldivers 2 rebellious faction Chaosdivers
The Helldivers 2 protest has escalated. The rebels have rebranded themselves as “Chaosdivers,” complete with their own logo, cape, propaganda, and more!
As reported earlier this week, Helldivers have been protesting against the balance changes introduced in the Escalation of Freedom update. For more details on the origins of this protest, see our article here:
Since then, the discontent has grown so intense that it has evolved into a full-scale movement against Super Earth. This protest has escalated beyond control, with the rebellious player-led faction officially rebranding themselves the Chaosdivers.
Helldivers 2 Chaosdivers and their path to rebellion
“Budget cuts are costing Super Earth its Helldivers. Their loyalty and lives are being exchanged for ‘balance.'”

The Chaosdivers now actively aid the enemy Automatons in the galactic war against Super Earth. However, the story doesn’t end there.
As of now, the Chaosdivers have established their own logo, cape, and mission statement, solidifying their presence in the game’s unofficial lore:
The movement has gained significant traction, dominating discussions across social platforms. If you are to visit the Helldivers 2 subreddit, all you can find among the main topics there are related to the Chaosdivers. Here and there, you may even spot returning players expressing confusion about the ongoing conflict between the rebels and the loyalists.
Speaking about subreddits, the Chaosdivers have also formed their own subreddit as a central hub for their gatherings. r/chaosdivers has attracted 756 members, and the number is still growing. However, these Chaosdivers don’t grief and they don’t team kill. They just don’t defend the Super Earth. The subreddit has three strict rules for those who want to join the Chaosdivers banner as follows:
— r/chaosdivers
- Don’t be disloyal. Any sympathy towards Super Earth or its followers is not permitted.
- Don’t be discriminatory. We are all In this fight together. Any bigotry, racism, homophobia, transphobia or hate of any kind will result in an immediate ban.
- No team killing. Anyone found to be advocating for team kills will be perma banned.
Helldivers vs. Chaosdivers
There are, of course, rogue Chaosdivers who don’t live by these rules. Some players are actively sabotaging missions to express their opposition to Super Earth and its loyalists. For some Helldivers, it’s fun to roleplay against the Chaosdivers. However, many others are frustrated by the disruption to their gameplay. As a result, there has been a significant increase in cases where Helldivers turn their weapons against each other:
“Once a guy fired a blitzer at me while opening a bunker door. The arc bounced off of my armor and killed the other lad opening the door. So I turned around, spun out my senator and shot him in the head.
Such is the price of treason.
Immediately reinforced them both, I hope they got a kick out of it lol.”

Or, as shared by Redditor MakeStuff Design, “It will please you to hear that I was running some 9’s with randos, and we had a griefer join who was doing the same type of thing, spamming traitorous nonsense and “accidentally” killing people with clusterbombs. So we took turns calling down mechs and stomping on the griefer. It was glorious.”
As the Chaosdivers continue to grow, there is increasing debate over whether Arrowhead should officially recognize this faction within the game. And, just like last time, we can’t wait to see a PvP mode where Helldivers and Chaosdivers can lock horns in battles!
