Blizzard has put an end to rumors regarding the arrival of AoTC mounts and other skill-based rewards in the Trading Post.

Over the last few days, fans have been riling over the potential return of Reins of the Kor’kron War Wolf. This mount is a prestigious reward obtained only by defeating the final boss in Heroic or Mythic modes of the Siege of Orgrimmar raid. It symbolizes the skills and determination of many players. Yet, Wowhead dataminers recently dug up its appearance in Dragonflight’s Trading Post, priced at 7,899 Trader’s Tender:

This discovery has sparked widespread debates and criticisms within the player community. After all, the notion that the mount can now be bought directly from the Trading Post undermines the integrity of past achievements.

Blizzard Confirmed: No Skill-Based Rewards in Trading Post

The Trading Post Won’t Sell Skill-Based Rewards

In response to mounting pressure from the WoW community seeking clarification, Blizzard has issued a blue post. They have confirmed that esteemed skill-based rewards earned through achievements like Cutting Edge, Ahead of the Curve, or Gladiator will not be available through the Trading Post for the time being:

“We’d like to dispel this particular rumor. At this time, we do not plan to offer mounts or other skill-based prestige rewards from achievements such as Cutting Edge or Ahead of the Curve or Gladiator in the Trading Post.”

— Blizzard

This statement eases fans’ worries about the credibility of past achievements and the balance of in-game rewards. Some fans are still cautious about the “at this time” mention. But for now, players can find comfort in knowing that these rewards won’t be arriving in the Trading Post in the near future.
