Current state of Shaman in TWW Season 1
Let’s talk about the current state of the class in TWW Season 1 after all the recent Shaman changes and adjustments.
Elemental Shaman changes
Elemental Shamans were very unhappy with Farseer Hero Talents. According to Murloc.io statistics, the overwhelming majority of players were choosing the Stormbringer Hero Talents tree in any situation. Elemental Shaman changes from November 26 heavily buffed Farseer Hero Talents builds. Such a significant enhancement of Call of the Ancestors damage turned the situation around. According to recent statistics, most players changed their builds in favor of the Farseer talent tree. It is very likely that Blizzard will soon nerf this Hero Talents tree because they surely overdid the needed buffs.
Color meaning:
Orange — most popular talents among the player base.
Purple — widely used talents with alternatives.
Gray — unpopular talents with almost no use among players.
Restoration Shaman changes
Like Elemental Shamans, Restoration spec almost fully ignored the Farseer Hero Talent tree. The majority of players were choosing Totemic builds. However, recent Shaman changes from November 26 buffed damage from Call of the Ancestors but were not impactful. Such small damage buffs do not outweigh the benefits from Totemic Hero Talents. Restoration Shaman healing and utility are much more important and are much better in the Totemic tree. Slightly more players switched to Farseer Hero Talents, but the overall situation did not change much.
Enhancement Shaman changes
There is not much to say about recent Enhancement Shaman changes. The current state of this spec is stable and quite balanced. This specialization performs incredibly well in both raids and M+. Enhancement Shaman has no bias towards either of the available Hero Talents trees. Both Stormbringer and Totemic builds are viable and played evenly. The developers are trying to nerf this spec because of its inevitable success among players. A recent nerf from November 26 didn’t result in crucial Enhancement The War Within Shaman changes.
