Signaling the release of The War Within, Blizzard recently premiered a new Powers Within trailer at Gamescom.
The Early Access release of The War Within is just around the corner for those who purchased the Epic Edition. Before this exciting moment, Blizzard unveiled a new trailer at Gamescom titled Powers Within. The video showcases five courageous Azeroth heroes using their Hero Talents to confront dangers deep within Khaz Algar and fend off the looming darkness.
The community’s response wasn’t without controversy. Along with numerous dislikes, many players criticized the video animations for being “heavy,” a bit ridiculous, and slow to watch. Some have even suggested speeding it up to 1.25x for a smoother experience, which seems to work well.
It’s rumored that the Powers Within trailer might have been outsourced to WoW community animators, which could explain the less-than-expected quality. If that’s the case, it’s an interesting move, as it allows talented players to contribute directly to the project itself. However, clarifying who was involved in working on the video may be helpful to avoid such criticism in the future.
