Game Designer Scott Mercer has bid farewell to Blizzard after devoting 26 years to the company. 

Who Is Scott Mercer?

Scott Mercer worked as a Game Designer at Blizzard. His work on WoW made him widely renowned. He was one of the key figures in the title’s monumental success since its inception. 

He held different management positions: quality control, game design, technical support, and creative services. His impact extended far beyond the world of Warcraft. His contributions to the gaming industry were pivotal in shaping several beloved titles. Notably, his influence can be seen in Warcraft II, III, WoW, StarCraft, Heroes of the Storm, Diablo II, Overwatch, and Overwatch 2. 

The Reason for His Departure

On his personal Twitter, he shared his appreciation for working with passionate people during his time at the company. However, he made it clear that taking care of his physical and mental health is now a top priority. 

Blizzard once again has to bid farewell to yet another cherished talent. This time, to someone who has witnessed the company’s growth since 1998.
