Diablo 4 Open Beta Players Report GPU Overheating

Diablo IV is one of the most highly anticipated titles of 2023. However, during the ongoing open beta testing phase, an alarming problem emerged. Some players have encountered GPUs overheating during their gaming sessions.

GPU is short for Graphics Processing Unit. To put it simply, it’s a graphic/video card responsible for rendering high-quality graphics, animations, and videos in real-time.

According to Eurogamer, the participants have experienced their GPUs overheating as soon as they boost the game. One player claimed their computer shut down after only 20 minutes of playing. Their GPU was burning hot. While there is no official fix yet, the community is recommending each other limit FPS to avoid the problem.

Blizzard is currently investigating to find out what could be the cause of this aching matter. They are collaborating with Nvidia to identify any potential hardware problem and find a solution. As of now, the company is supporting its fan base by providing temporary fixing tips through its channels. They suggest conducting a complete power cycle to detect the GPU on Windows. In case of detection, install clean drivers if the graphic cards stop working.

While issues during beta testing are expected, fans are hoping that they will be resolved before the game hits the market later this year. However, anyone taking part in the open beta should be aware that they are putting their GPUs at risk of damage.
