Battle.net Suffers from DDoS Attack: Diablo IV and Overwatch 2 Disrupted

DDoS is once again causing headaches on Battle.net.

What Is DDoS?

DDoS is short for Distributed Denial of Service. It’s an infamous cyber attack that involves flooding a website or network with a barrage of traffic from multiple sources. Thus, rendering it inaccessible to legitimate users.

The Situation

Upon launching the Battle.net platform, users are greeted with a dropdown message that confirms the DDoS attack. It also warns players of all the issues present and assures that efforts are underway to resolve the problem.

The attack has affected Diablo IV servers and the Overwatch 2 shop. A plethora of problems emerge, ranging from trouble logging in, high latency, and, of course, disconnection.

This is the second DDoS attack the launcher has suffered this year, with the first being in April. You can find more information about it in the article:

Current Status

At the time of writing, it remains uncertain when Battle.net will be fully functional again. Players have also reported error code 315306 in relation to the DDoS attack.

Other popular games on the mentioned launcher may also fall victim to the disruptions.

Blizzard’s Response

The Blizzard CS – The Americas has acknowledged the problem. They are actively addressing the issue and working towards restoring normalcy.

Gamers are advised to stay patient and wait for more updates on the matter.

Update

The gaming community can now breathe a sigh of relief. Blizzard has announced that the DDoS attacks have ended.
