Ion Hazzikostas Spoke about WoW: The War Within Early Access

Since its initial announcement, WoW: The War Within early access has been a source of frustration for many gamers. Nevertheless, Ion Hazzikostas has reassured the player base. The Game Director affirmed that it won’t have a lasting impact on the overall gaming experience.
World of Warcraft, known for its loyal franchise, has left some players disgruntled with its latest announcement. Breaking from tradition, Blizzard’s iconic MMORPG now offers three days of early access to those who pre-order the Epic edition.

Priced at $90, it’s packed with various bonuses. Other than the previously mentioned early access, players can also look forward to:
- 30 days of game time
- A pet
- Two toys
- And guaranteed beta access
Players’ dissatisfaction is prominently displayed across various online platforms. At the moment, Reddit is serving as the central hub for their grievances. One Reddit commenter even described the situation as ‘comical, mustache-twirling levels of greed.’

However, according to PCGamer, Ion Hazzikostas assured the player base that the early access won’t create a long-term edge. It will exclude many end-game advantages to maintain an even playing field. The Game Director emphasized that the early access period is intended to assist players with limited time to dedicate to WoW. And the development team’s main goal is to make sure that there is no noticeable advantage between those with early access and those without.
“We’re looking at end game power advantages. Our goal here is, and we’re going to do everything in our power to make sure it’s the case, that there’s no long-term advantage. You shouldn’t be able to tell the difference between someone by the time Season One [with its raid and Mythic Plus dungeons] starts, who had the early access to someone who didn’t.”

Currently, it’s uncertain whether events will unfold as planned by the developers. The impact of those three days can be substantial, particularly in the race to reach the new level cap. So, let us know your opinion in the comments! We can’t wait to hear your thoughts on this matter.
