Riot Games is bidding goodbye to one of its top executives. Greg Street, also known as Ghostcrawler to many, has announced his departure from the company.

Who Is Greg Street?

Street is a well-known figure in the gaming industry. Previously, he worked for five years as the WoW Lead Systems Designer. During his time at Blizzard, he was known for his open and direct communication with the community. Back then, it was rare for a developer to do so.

After leaving the US firm in 2013, he joined Riot. Starting out as LoL Lead Game Designer, he rose to Head of Creative Development in 2018. Since then, he has been crucial in building the team responsible for Riot’s upcoming MMORPG.

The Reason for His Departure

After nine years of working in Riot, Street again said farewell to yet another industry giant. According to his posts on Twitter, he left after considering both personal and professional factors.

What Will Happen to the MMORPG Now That He’s Gone?

As the Executive Producer of the MMORPG project, he expressed confidence in his colleagues. He’s confident that the title is in good hands and that they are trying to create a game worthy of all players.

As for himself, he’s still committed to thriving in game development. However, he will be exploring new opportunities elsewhere. With his wealth of experience and expertise, there’s no doubt that he will keep on contributing to the industry’s future.
