Nintendo has yet to confirm any post-launch downloadable content (DLC) for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom (TotK). However, eagle-eyed Redditors were able to spot an interesting detail on the game’s official website. Thus, leaking the information about the unannounced DLC.

Apparently, if you scroll down on the TotK website, beyond the captivating trailers and adventurous texts, you will come across the footnotes. A brief glance at this section will lead you to the following:

Nintendo has yet to release details about whether there will be a DLC. But honestly, the information isn’t a shocker for many. After all, the last addition to the franchise: Breath of the Wild, had two DLCs. Both of them, the Master Trials and the Champions’ Ballad, dropped after its 2017 launch. The former let players upgrade their Master Sword. While the latter provided new story content, revealing another side to the initial story seen in BoTW.

One thing that can be said with certainty is that the upcoming TotK DLC is expected to meet or even exceed the standards set by the Champions’ Ballad. Nevertheless, this news has sparked some controversy within the community. Some fans feel that Nintendo is taking advantage of its fanbase, particularly after the recent price increase to $69.99. Others believe this is reasonable, given the increased production costs and the title’s vast scope. Considering the hundreds of hours of entertainment and exploration it has to offer, it’s only fair to ask for such a price.

Tears of the Kingdom is undeniably one of Nintendo’s most anticipated releases in recent years. As such, fans are eager for any information they can get their hands on. With only two months until the official release of TotK, those looking to pass the time can explore the leaked art book or check out our list of the top 20 games to play on Nintendo Switch.
