Naoki Yoshida, the Director and Producer of Final Fantasy 14, has expressed his desire to collaborate with the Diablo series.
It’s no secret that Final Fantasy 14 has a history of successful crossovers. Final Fantasy 14 has a history of fruitful partnerships. For instance, the collabs with Monster Hunter, Yo-kai Watch, and an upcoming venture with Fall Guys.
And so, when this crossover dream was unveiled during a press conference at London’s Fan Festival, fans were filled with eager anticipation for its confirmation. Yoshida, a devoted Blizzard enthusiast, conveyed his hopes through a translator:
“I’ve mentioned this in the past, but I’m a huge Blizzard fan. So I mean, if we could just make it work then I would be so happy to see some sort of collaboration with Diablo.”— Naoki Yoshida
However, he shares the same concerns with anyone who’s reading this article right now. After all, bringing the world of FF14 and Diablo together is a formidable task. FF14 doesn’t shy away from somber themes and twisted aesthetics. But to match Diablo’s gory levels is an entirely different story. And the most important part is they need to keep things in balance so as not to disappoint any of the two fan bases.
Yet, despite the complexity of the idea, fans can’t help but wonder what a fusion of these two legendary franchises would look like. So, the question here is, what do you think? Do you believe that such a crossover can become a reality, or is it merely an ambitious dream? Let us know in the comments!
